Download Anime From Amazon.com

There are only five or six anime titles so far and they're expensive at $4 per episode. But the store only opened today, so more should be expected.

Be aware that the anime is DRMed, so editing with it is out of the question.

What a rip off. Worse quality.. DRM and what.. check it out southpark has only 1.99 an episode that's around 29.85 for one season. You could buy the second season box set(18 episodes) with BETTER QUALITY, NO DRM at deepdiscountdvd For only $ 29.04. If you buy all those episodes through this DRM infested download service it'll cost you $ 35.82. Use it if you want but you are getting totally ripped off IMO if you use this service. I could throw around more statistics but I don't don't think I'll get anyone that'll argue with my point of view. If you truly believe this to be great I could probably come up with a lot of other statistics to blow this deal into the water. Maybe if there are things not available on DVD in this service then it'll be good that way. But if the product is already on dvd you could probably find it on dvd for around the same price and you'll be getting a lot better deal in terms of quality.

All true, but kind of beside the point. The same was said about CDs vs cassettes twenty years ago. This is still early in the game for downloadable video, so prices will be high. But the success of video downloads at iTunes says that there are plenty of people willing to pay for convenience as well as the content.

As someone who once paid $25 for half-hour episodes of Tenchi Muyo, $4 doesn't sound too bad to me. But that was then. Nowadays I aim for $1.00 per episode on DVD and that's becoming easier to do with each passing month.

Oh, and the best thing about downloadable video: it's helping to drive DVD prices down.

Well, for now anyway. I'd be interested in this as a way of legally test-driving potential purchases, and if a method to edit the files becomes widely-known then it could be useful for multi-source vids and other projects where you don't need much footage.

Actually, let me correct myself. I believe t uses WMP DRM, which has been fully cracked. However, by all accounts Amazon Unbox is not worth using.
