laser disc: free to good home

Postby slackergirl » Sat Oct 15, 2005 10:54 pm

About 4 years ago, I erroniously purchased a laser disc instead of a DVD, and stupid half.com wouldn't let me cancel the order or even contact the seller (a feature which has since been fixed, but they're still stupid!).

Not that I'm bitter...

Anyway, I have what I am told is a fully functional laser disc copy of Tenchi Universe: Collection 1, containing episodes 1-4 in pristine laser disc clarity. (Having never owned a laser disc player, I cannot guarantee the previous statement.) I've given up any hope of recouping what I paid for it, so it might as well be of use to someone. Therefore I turn to you, the amv community to find an appreciative owner. I just want it out of my house. I'll even pay for shipping to the continental US. First come, first serve.

Stupid half.com...

There might be two (?) of us who still have LD players. Ones that work, that is. Mine needs a good smack before it'll eject.

Anyway, sorry, I already have the entire Tenchi set. :(

Well, Castor Troy, since you're not Vlad, I'm assuming you don't want it, so it goes to narcted.

narcted, she'll be happier in CA, and I'm sure you'll take good care of her... I promised myself I wouldn't cry!

I hereby am no longer giving anything away, so... uhhh... don't post asking for it.

Just search eBay and google the players you find to see if they are any good. My brother recently got the laser disc version the of the original Star Wars trilogy and got a player for a very reasonable price. Now we can enjoy the "true" version of Star Wars in excellent quality :D!

I've heard LDs have excellent video quality; I have no qualms with the media in general. But I'm already cramped for space for my electronic devices. I'm not about to buy a player to watch 1 LD (that I already have a DVD of!).

It's a shame LDs didn't catch on more. I guess they were ahead of their time... or too bulky... or both...
