Places with cheap anime dvds

Postby Dave_911 » Tue Dec 21, 2004 9:52 pm

Ok i made this thread to see if anyone else knows of any places to find cheap anime dvds

Some places i've found:
Used:
Suncoast
Gamestop
local used CD stores
New:
Best Buy
Target

at suncoast i got Clerks, Haibane-Renmei 1-4, and Serial Experiments lain 1-4 for $30 all used, only pain in the rear is the hunting you gotta do through all the used dvds

Places like suncost and Gamestop have more used anime, but they know how much they can get away with charging for it, your local cd store has better prices on anime, but have less anime, so you are less likely to find something that interests you

Suncoast Excel Saga Box = $85
Best Buy Excel Saga Box = $55

Just one of the many examples.

Granted, you said used, but even those I've found to be iffy.

Try Half Price Books if there is one near you. DVDs, VHS, CDs, manga. Usually 2nd hand stuff, but sometimes they'll get overruns of new product (esp. manga).

This thread has some good info, but I'd particularly recommend deepdiscountdvd.com.

I'd recomend this site, http://www.rightstuf.com/, visit the online store and check the money savers. Often you can get things for half price or less. Amazon.com and others have used listed for good prices.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Gamestop.

Used anime DVDs are in the $6.99 to $12.99 range. I picked up three DVDs (Vampire Princess Miyu 1, Beserk 1, Initial D 1) today for ~$25. Look at the DVDs carefully before you leave, and don't buy ones that are scratched.

I was tempted to pick up the entire Eva set at $10/DVD....

Considering gamestop always checks for scratches before people sell them, you should be in good shape. :)

So many dbz dvds I've gotten from there and EB games...

Even some of their new stuff is awesomely priced. From them I picked up Super GALS vol. 1 + artbox for $8.50, and Kino's Journey vol.1 + artbox for $13.50.
