looking for any rare anime stuff? [positive ebay experience]

Postby GaavTheDemonDragonKing » Sat May 29, 2004 8:02 pm

go to ebay and you'll find just what you need. I found this really cool lina inverse action figure about 6 or 7 months ago. it was still in its package and there were 3 that i known of total. the first went for $10. i put in a $25 bid and lost by $2. not even month later another came up for $20. on the last hour i put in a $43 bid and lost by $1. so then i just bought one now for $100 and it was the last one i seen since. Whem i was stationed in Japan they went for as much as $225 US dollars! It was a rare doll because it came out right after the slayers next series. and this action figue was still in box. I go a really good deal for just $100

Translation:

Oh I only buy from amazon.com (non-auction i'm guessing) or I go to FYE (For Your Entertainment) to get mine.

They do have some legit stuff on eBay, but you really have to look for it. I wasn't aware that they sold bootlegs on Amazon...it's definitely news to me. I recently bought the RG Veda OVA for 8.99 off Rightstuf.com. It was a good deal, I think. Shouldn't this thread technically be in the Head Up forum?

That earned a loud "HA!" from moi.

As a rule I don't buy anything off the internet, the closest I get is ordering stuff from a specific store online then paying in that same store.

Generally if I can't find it a legit shop, I browse conventions for it. Being able to look at something and turn in around in my hands saves me from accidentally purchasing bootlegs and other illegal stuff.

The Gundam Wing bootlegs I bought (before I really understood what bootlegs were) were definitely lacking in quality. They were a bit dark, and during one of the previews for the next ep it cut off suddenly. Definitely stick to legit stuff. ::firm nod::
