I wasn't trying to rain on your parade or anything, just sharing personal experience, that's all. And I agree Maxtors are le' suck reguardless. I do think seagates are good drives, I think I just came across alot of bad eggs over the years.
I don't think I'll ever buy anything besides a Western Digital in the future though. They've always been worth whatever they cost for my purposes.
Oh one other odd thing that I noticed with the last seagate that I bought was that despite being labeled ATA166, My current WD drive @ ATA133 runs circles around it in any application I could think to run, so meh. I'll just stick with what I know works.
I hope that yours does well for you. I'll give you 70/30 odds in your favor of it working. That's about all the confidence I got though.
