an AT computer..

Postby LoST RaiNDRoP » Mon Apr 05, 2004 7:38 pm

i just got a computer from school for free. it has an AT style (motherboard and all)... so its pretty old and lame. but i want to make use of it anyways.. i was wondering, is there anyone here that has a serial mouse and a AT style keyboard? coz thats the only things i need to make this work... i wouldnt expect to pay anything for it because those things are cheap and old. if theres someone out there that wants to give it away.. can i have it? ^_^ ..im not sure if i would pay for shipping though.

theres no flea market around here... that would be my second option though if theres no one here that wants to get rid of those junk.

Those of us who had that stuff probably got rid of it years ago.

Another option is a place that recycles computers and electronics. You may need to be near a decently sized urban area to find one (check a phone book or ask at a local computer store, or the state environmental department). If you lived up here I could point you to several places that sell this kind of old equipment for the price of dirt. Recycling scrap electronics is big (well, medium) business.

Yet another option is to use a modern keyboard and mouse with adapters for the old connectors. Like the following:

Note I've never dealt with this company so I'm not necessarily recommending them, just showing you these pictures so you can see what they look like.
