New Thread/edit May 10:
I've re-written the entire guide today. As kickass suggested, I'm going to try and put in something to do with lyric synch, though I'm not sure exactly what examples to use just yet.
Here's the rewrite:
http://khat.us/files/amv/guide/sq.html
Please look at this and tell me if there's anything wrong or that can be improved! (Overall subject matter, typos, etc.)
The changes I've made were:
- Made the previously 3-page guide one cohesive page.
- Removed the "Wind Machine" entirely
- Kept all the general subject matter, but rewrote it all to be more "professional" sounding
- Added flip4mac as alternative to WMP for mac
I've kept all the original images and videos, as I figured that'd just be easier when re-uploading it to the site.
However, I was wondering if you think it may be more beneficial to stream such small videos? Y/N? I would like opinions on this.
My ideas for the lyric synch portion are as follows, but I'd also like some input on that as well:
Sections for
"Word synch" (changing scenes for every word)
"sentence/phrase" (change at ever sentence or phrase end)
"volume" (screaming provides different synch opportunities than whispering)
I'd like a lot more input on lyric synch since it's so up in the air. As I was thinking about it, I was wondering if I should just make a seperate guide entirely to get into the whole theory of it (Using different timing techniques based on where you are in a song [chorus, refrain, etc.]) but I decided that was too deep and I should dumb it down some.
Thoughts please??
Also, some good songs with small portions of lyrics that could be used as examples in the guide would be nice. I could always figure something out from own collection, but another set of ears would be nice. Also what types of songs should I pull clips from? Rap, rock, etc.?

Original Thread:
I wish I had another account so I didn't sound like such a jackass saying this.
Regardless.
Does anyone use this?
Is it helpful at all?
I've seen people linking it, but in the same vein, I've also seen a few people talking bad about it.
The thing is several years old now, and I was thinking about rewriting it (if that were even possible).
The way it's written is pretty bad. It doesn't get the point across of what the guide is actually for. Which is to provide a basic understanding of the mechanics of how you can synch to things given different scenarios, not that you should synch or the theory of where to synch and what would fit where best (which would be more of madbunny's guide).
So I was wondering if I should bother trying to re-do this, or if I should leave it, or if I should ask for it to be removed if it is honestly not helpful.
If you guys hate the thing, let me know. I have thick skin, and I wrote that thing when I was like, what? 17? So it's not like it's going to hurt my feelings if you say it sucks or anything.
So, I guess I'm asking for some constructive criticism or feedback.
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about:
SQ's How to action synch
And also, Madbunny's How to make a basic action video 101
Both under the "Users tips and tricks" portion of the guides page.
