That looks like Tiger. If it's an intel upgrade that shit to snow leo. Benchmarks show it will actually be faster. If it is a G4, time for a new computer.

AN, actually.
I'm running OS X 10.4. 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo and 1GB 667MHz Ram.
It's a pretty old refurb, I just got it to finally get a mac, not with the intent of doing anything really productive on it (Good thing too, because it runs Photoshop like shit).

I've used macs for years, but never owned one. Honestly since I'm out of the semi-pro editing circle there's no use for me to have a mac anymore. Too expensive, not enough control for my tastes. Also FCP isn't very forgiving for AMV work, and overall I just liked Premiere better anyway.
Kind of a shame, but those are the breaks.

Thanks for the info, but Big Navy has changed a lot since you were in.
We're all much better/happier dudes. :D

Bullshit. My package is in, and I was on GW about three weeks ago. Also I am pretty active on the SWO forums. Don't make me call you on this one, shipmate. :x

Edit: navy shit aside, and I mean none of it really, I'll answer the Mac stuff in the Mac thread.

Maybe it's just different on the AV side, then?
I've never had any trouble yet, but then again I'm pretty unknown, I guess.
Plus this is a training command.

But supposedly they're stricter here. And as I said previously, I've never run into any real hardship except paperwork.

Also, you were an officer. That may have a lot to do with it. Seems like a bunch of enlisted really hate you guys. I'm just an e-nothing right now, so no real contempt for me. xD

Regardless, we really shouldn't turn this into a Navy chat.
PM me if you want to catch up. We can derail threads when I get access to the Donator's forum.
Otherwise I'd kind of like to go OT in the main forums.

I donated on the 28th.
For some god awful reason it hasn't gone through yet. I already emailed them about it.
Before that, my donation expired a longass time a go.

I don't think I ever took a picture of my editing rig. Although I still have the G4 and G5 Macs I use to edit with, the old CRT monitors are long gone...

Then that guitar thingies popped up and went dun dun DUN dun then those box thingies went zooming by and twirling around and shit. Oh god, then the hexagons popped up and I was like 'I just got a stiffie'. Then there was the circle with those thingies going around and I blew my load.
