I'm not afraid to admit I like Linkin Park as well. I'm also not afraid to say that they ARE over played and it's easy to get tired of them. I can also tell you why it's used so much, and not just to DBZ (There's alot of LP videos out there. Not just to DBZ, but to almost every semi popular anime)
The reason is the sound just plain fits.
The thing most of these AMV creators who use LP don't seem to get is that putting music to random Anime is not what makes a good music video, the lyrics play an important role... it has to fit the feeling of what's going on in the video. This explains the abundance of DBZ videos: It goes to the music. If you ever watch the fight scenes of DBZ (I'm also not afraid to admit I like DBZ), the fighting, when put at different speeds and such, just goes very well to rythem, music, ETC ETC ETC... however again, most people don't take the story and what's going on to heart... I find this odd to, because most of LP's songs fit alot of stuff going on in Anime, just the AMV Creators I guess don't have enough creativity to realize this, which is why we'll see a Crawling video to Dragonball Z, which the song has NOTHING to do with any of the scenes/stories/characters of DBZ whatsoever. Period.
Now I'm gonna use a personal example with a video I've already made/going to remake, my first video I made actually: a Bardock tribute to Linkin Park's "Pushing Me Away" (Spoilers abound from here on out, so if you haven't seen the Bardock special or actually care which I'm sure won't make up the majority, feel free to skip the rest of this post and go to the conclusion) The song itself is about being in a relationship where the person takes advantage of you, and the attitude is slowly pushing you away from them. Now, I made the Bardock video in the perspecitve of his relationship to Frieza, who wants to kill his entire race to prevent them from someday getting strong enough to over throw Frieza. The video of course concludes with his confrontation with Frieza, and the destruction of the Saiyans' planet. Simply put, The song matches the story portrayed. The video actually makes sense.
So in conclusion, There is too much Linkin Park. Hopefully it'll die out soon, since the Band itself seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth (I don't count Reanimation as anything)... but somehow, I doubt it.
