I believe I started in early 2006, though I didn't take AMVs seriously until about August 2008. I don't really consider the horrible stuff I made before then AMVs... so I guess started throwing random clips together in 2006 and I started making AMVs in 2008.

I edited for 4-5 years from 2003 to 2007/8. Then I stopped because while I had ideas for some great stuff, I became too much of a perfectionist and nothing was ever finished. I still have a Spirited Away video I started way back in 03 that will never be finished, as well as a conceptual Cowboy Bebop video from 06 or 07, and a Paranoia Agent video that went through two pieces of music and a complete revision from 2005 to 2008. The strongest was probably the Cowboy Bebop one, though. The other two came off as super cheesy, looking back.

Nowadays I just rip apart other peoples' work because you kids use too many digital effects gal darnit.

I can't remember when I started, I think it was in July 2009, didn't actually release the damn thing until October. I'm lazy, go figure.

i'd say just about four years, maybe slightly more. but that hasn't been a consistent time period. i first started in '06, but i've taken long breaks since then and i'm still on one. i was first introduced to vegas in '07 and i've been using it ever since.

2 or 3 years i believe. I started with wmm in 2006-2007 on youtube and made some random sonic amvs. Yeah. Then when i got dissy comments i decided to make drawing vids. Again, ew. Then i was like FUCK and made some shitty amvs. Then when i went to otakon in 08 i saw some well edited amvs and started watching a lot more anime. Then i made my first amv on vegas and it sprouted from there. Go me :awesome:
godix wrote:Like this one amv. It was all like woosh, zoom with effects. And I was all like whoa awesome. Then that guitar thingies popped up and went dun dun DUN dun then those box thingies went zooming by and twirling around and shit. Oh god, then the hexagons popped up and I was like 'I just got a stiffie'. Then there was the circle with those thingies going around and I blew my load.

2000...10 years...at least six of which were spent throwing hundreds, maybe thousands, of hours into videos that never saw the light of day. Not sure if that counts - I was editing, but I can't prove it...'cept maybe old journal posts...hrm...don't think they go back THAT far.
