No-Effects finals has only like 2 videos actually without effects, so using semi-finalists would make the choice for the judges a bit wider...

Okay, after some slave driving over the judges, I finally got the results in. Since we drew from the semi-finalists list (and because the VCA results were uncharacteristically on time this year), I couldn't get a concurrent release, but better late than never. I listed each category, the winning video, and two comments from various judges I felt pertained to the videos best.

However, I would like to note that two or three categories could not reach any consensus, due to having three or four-way ties. In those cases, I simply chose to omit those categories (I won't say which ones they are, just to keep it a surprise). I'm sure this will upset some of you guys, but I just can't please everyone. Also, one of the categories (not mentioned here to keep it spoiler-free) actually got a video that was not in the VCA semi-finalist list. It had votes from four judges independently, and it actually won the category by point totals. While this is technically a breach of the rules, the fact that the judges don't even know who the other judges are tells me that the video that made it through without being on the list really deserves its win.

All that said, enjoy the results because it took me a god damn long time to type them up. Also, I put them in a collapsable spoiler box so the post wouldn't be pages long.

Spoiler :
Best Action

Judge's Comments
* A wonderful compilation of fantastic fight sequences set to energizing music with an intriguing use of special effects.
* The visual quality is flawless, didn't find a thing I could even begin to complain about with it. There was no fuzziness, no anything but pure and simple picture.

Best Character Profile

Judge's Comments
* The synch was perfected or nearly perfected. It went by to what seemed like the beat 100%
* After watching this, I stopped talking...

Best Collaborative Video

Judge's Comments

* It is definitly the most innovative, creative, awsome idea I have ever seen.

Best Romance

Judge's Comments
* Normally I don't like this many effects, but in this case I'm making an exception because they were needed for the concept and they were used so well to pull off the idea.

Wait... couldn't this be just a giant attempt of trolling? I mean... wtf? Just CascadaThon has nothing to do with CDVV and well it feels like some sort of trolling too.

Or is this just one big parody of circle jerking?

Please say you're kidding. :|

I think it's meant as a troll, and knowing ying, even if just that much that you can know of a person through the internet, I can safely say that the serious-looking premise was due to make it a more successfull troll.

Guess no JCAs results this year. Unless someone feels like starting on them now... this time with a proper judges nomination.
