Unfortunately this only applies to college students.
It might be a good idea to check with your university about an FTP account. Most colleges do have FTP accounts for their students as space for building a webpage. I'm not suggesting it as a be-all-end-all solution, because college admins won't be too keen on you using up all their bandwidth, but if you need a place to store your videos for later use, it's a good idea. Or let's say you find hosting with a friend, but you can't send through IM because of those pesky firewall settings? The best way to get around it would be to upload the video to your university account, then give your friend the link to it (most of the time there IS a direct link. Usually http://schoolserver/~youridnumber/file ) One download won't get you in trouble.
Just a thought. Heck, being a school leech can be fun. And for all the damn tuition we pay, the least they can do is provide some sort of transport for large files.
