Quality or quantity?

Quality or quantity?

An editor of my community ask me... What do you prefer, quality or quantity? I answer... Quality!
I have a few AMVs in my collection. But they are all quality, from my reasoning that deserve to be there... anyway my quality control is very demanding!

I think it's an interesting question... because I know editors who like the quantity... prefer to have a comprehensive collection at the expense of quality!

Are you talking about AMVs you collect or AMVs you're personally made by yourself?

I'm pretty sure means by personal AMV's.

But of course, Quality.

I actually settle for both. I always have 1 or 2 ongoing projects that I don't know how much time they'll take me but that will hopefully come out very well. In the meantime, to have something released, and to improve my skills for my main projects, I also edit quick minor stuff, so that this year I ended up releasing more or less 1 solo video per month, on average. However, all the vids I released this year are minor stuff, but two of these were apparently received really well anyway (at least, for what they were to begin with). After all, I try to still have a minimum quality in my quick works too.

I don't like to rush things for no reason. If I have the time than I should continue to work on a project to work out all it's issues. So yeah I prefer quality.

For a year, I've only been edited quick projects.
Last July, I was tired of this. Now, I'm trying to be as serious as I can with all my videos |:

While I do enjoy having an extensive collection of AMVs, I do also look for quality. True, I do try to mirror the contest archive, and enjoy having as many videos as I do, I also keep my own personal collection. Essentially, I keep 2 stashes of videos. The most selective stash is my personal archive where I keep all the videos I really enjoy. Grant it, I enjoy a LOT of videos, so it is pretty large in and of itself, but I don't download or even keep every video I download.

Quality. That's why I take so long ;_;

Nothing is wrong with fun and quick side projects though, especially if they're in the name of awesomecore or to break you out of a rut.

I always keep a small stash of videos to watch on my TV. Whenever I do add a video to it it's usually at least decent, and when I need some space I just erase some I know I won't be watching again. I have a select group of 100 or so that I just don't touch; these are all quality. Although I try to keep this group as small as possible, I won't hesitate to add another if it's really good.
So, above all is quality of course... But it doesn't hurt to have a large quantity either.

I think both can be ok, depending on the person.
If you have lots of video ideas that you want to make, then unless you have tons of free time, there is no way that you can make all of them. So, if making those videos is important to you, maybe its best to at least try to make them quickly, rather than not make them at all.

But for your really important videos, you should definitely go for quality, no matter what.

Logically, one aims to collect videos that one deems enjoyable. So the videos in a "quality" collection will also be included in a "quantity" collection, the difference being that the "quantity" collection will have more videos in it. It seems the sole factor separating "quality" and "quantity" is the number of AMVs in one's collection.

:book:

That said, I have 45 AMVs in my collection not including my own.
