I wanna edit, but I've been so damn busy and when I finally get home, I just wanna waste time browsing on the computer and play video games. :/

But if I can get into the groove, then I can't stop editing.

I have so many ideas I want to edit, but once I learned how to make an AMV, I went nuts and did too many little videos at once...then got burned out. Now I just don't feel like doing it. And I absolutely dread working with DVD footage, it's too much of a pain for me, and I HATE DEINTERLACING. I think I still enjoy and look forward to editing the video itself, but I hate preparing footage and making clips anymore.

It seems two of the bigger categories in this thread happen to be people who don't like editing, and people who don't like ripping/converting. Maybe the first can prepare the footage, and make the latter edit the videos, so we're all happy and videos start being made again?

I don't mind doing all the pre-editing work.
I don't mind editing.
I don't mind doing all the post-editing work.

That's why my editing regimen consists of periods of intense editing followed by loooong interludes of idling. I never leave a project in the timeline for more than a month unless it's effects heavy.

Some people seem to have a surplus of ideas for AMVs. I don't. On the contrary, I'm always suffering from a scarcity of ideas. In other words, the rate limiting factor for me in releasing new videos isn't laziness ( ), but my lack of new ideas.

Sometimes the process of editing is boring, sometimes it's extremely fun but that usually depends on how accurately the idea in my mind is being translated onto my PC. Sometimes it's just pure laziness where I open a project, stare at the video layers for a while then closing it...

That and some projects where I'm doing intense layering and effects lag...A LOT. I need a new PC lol

I hate it when your amv is pretty much done and you WANT to give it those finishing touches (everybody will LOVE :)) but just can't... too afraid you'll mess the thing up :/ lol. And you sit there with the program open while you surf the internet. usually the org forums. Doing something like this :/ yeah.

I have to say that in fact the complete opposite just happened to me. I wasn't thinking about adding anything to a video and it added a bunch of finishing touches to itself. Shit was so cash..

Seems the problem for me is that I've learned alot over the past year and end up generating some work intensive editing ideas now. When it comes down to it, this is a hobby and if it requires alot of work then you need the passion to back that up. I don't really have the passion to edit an amv with those kind of intense ideas for some reason (and even if I did, it didn't last long) and end up unable to accept a more simpler way to edit through it.

This is kinda moot for MEP segments though cause in most cases... Yes you still get those ideas but... There isn't nearly as much work span due to its length.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
