I pretty much agree with you. I think labeling something as art is like
a tag that says "hey, something here is potentially interesting."

Hmm, I'd have to say yes. Unless it's purely informational\diagnostic, everything from the lowest narutopark Z amv to twilight is art. Whether it's good or bad, high art or low art, that right there's where the discussion's generated. And where people still get the right to say "This is shit!"
