Here is a couple of timeline shots of insanity from After Effects:

Image

5 masks and lots of keyframes used in a composite shot that lasts for less then 3 seconds...

Image

The most layers and masks combination I've used to make this composite clip...

for my third video I used after effects on 2 roughly 3 second relatively simple shots. It was not cool, I almost went insane. You need to stop, now, get a life, or something because the amount of work you put into the is just rediculous. That said, I will now use it for referance on further projects! :D

All I've used AE for so far has been mainly the titles replacements in Dark Metropolis- and even just those had me with 4 or 5 nested compositions, one of which had around 30 layers. I think I'm frightened of what it'll be like when I actually start using it for stuff beyond just titling...

Anyways, I have no idea what that is for, except something to do with AMVs... :(

It's Premiere and is a crazy dance video. Mine looks similar, only wiht two video fields. Plus, my clips average on six frames each. It's annoying to watch, but some people like the fx.

How do you go about doing that btw? Do you actually use two screens? What is the advantage?
Hey, btw, about that video, how did you figure out which piano keys to use? It seems to me like you nailed all of them, Im just curious whether or not you picked up some sheat music or something to figure that out.

I'll do my editing and compositing on Cinelerra on Linux, and I'll sometimes do image retouching in Photoshop. Here's me doing some Photoshopping.

I'll be going to dual monitor as soon as the old PCI vid. card I ordered comes in to run the old monitor. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I think the advantage is that you can have the output window running at the size of the whole screen, so it's easier to see detail. And in the other window you have all the real estate to expand things out so it's easier to work with.

That video kicks ass, Kwasek. I'm curious as to whether you had the sheet music or just hammered it out, as far as I can tell, you've got the notes dead on.

Dual monitors just helps with enlarging the work area. I don't feel so crowded using Premiere, AE, Photoshop, etc... Most of the new video cards out there support it.

Thanks for the things you guys said about the video. Ya, I did purchase the sheet music and used it to guide my placements. Then I basically squeezed the keys together to improve the clarity of the keys.

Your Inu Yasha source looks like its relatively low quality. Wait until I release my BEAUTIFUL region 2 sourced AMV tentatively titled "The Worlds Between Us" sometime within the month", it will beat your pithy video to a pulp!

No really, that all looks really straightforward.
