Layering is required for alot of masking and effects and stuff, When I edit I use layers sometimes when not needed just to keep kinda organized

x2
Even when I'm doing some simple crossfades, or something like that, I'll find myself using 2+ layers without even thinking about it.

But about 90% of my timelines are 1 layered things, with like 1 clip on a 2nd layer here and there... I should really try and make at LEAST a beta of an insane vid with like 20 tracks...just because.

I barely use effects and my vids are still mostly 6-8 layers +

I try to keep my track number down the best I can. No sense in having more than you need.
