AMVs are NOT a free hobbie.

This forum is for the general discussion of Anime Music Videos.

Creating AMVs helps drive the electronics and media economies by creating a need for faster, better computers and its respective related technologies, such as storage mediums, internet connections, and more effective video editing software. futhermore, AMVs introduce people to different anime and as a result may influence them to obtain a copy of the material. this process creates a flow of supply and builds up more demand, allowing the market to expand and establish itself where previously it was unknown.

etc...some one else can write the essay.

is your computer JUST an investment for amv editing though? by the same reasoning, you could say, i spent 3000$ feeding myself to keep myself alive so that i could edit.

I spent around 8,000 dollars on software and hardware all together for this hobby and gaming(mainly for editing)

I've bought around 500 anime dvds, over half of which were influenced for amving.

So I've been a huge consumer due to this hobby. If I ever went to jail or got sued and owed a lot of money because of it. I would become a very evil person. I don't know what I'd due once out of jail, or after I payed a hefty fine because of it. It IMO would be incredibly F'ed up to attack me for any reason whatsoever because of my involvement in this hobby. I've spend over a hundred dollars on music because of this hobby as well. Word of advice.. stay away from us... I'm sure a lot of big spenders of this hobby would go nuts as well if so if the law came after them because of their involvement.

AMV's, downloading, subbing, trying new stuff - setting it aside for being incomplete, downloading better stuff, ... this all fails to cost as much as just watching HD on Cable. Then there's the chasing-around the grandkids, trying to avoid the "love-hook-ups" by my girls T_T, the shopping at the Malls, letting the Boys tinker with the cars' T_T, cooking, cleaning, going shopping to avoid cleaning the old stuff and finally having "ME TIME" to watch what I've downloaded 8-) .. ever notice how girls make the time to watch anything subbed and guys get a headache trying to follow the subbings -- hehe -- whimps!
The internet and its software and hardware cost's are really quite minimal when you compare it to the cost of anything else in life; therefore I'd have to say that sense 1993 to today my computer cost's in hardware and software have averaged about $52.00 per month not including the Internet connection fee's. Ohh, look, MicroCenter has CyberTablets 14" wide by 9" tall for under a bill; time to go shopping ^_^ -- see ya!

I did something like that. I went to the telecommunication center at my military base and used their computers to get them. Easiest way to get them. Just got a zip drive and dragged them that way. I never want to use those ever again, it's all about the external hard drives now.
