That looks relatively spacious. How much is a teachers salary in Japan anyway?

For one person, yeah, it is, but it's actually meant to be a family unit. One of my students lives with her mother, father, and little sister in the the same floor plan three doors down.

Well, the average is between $24,000-$30,000 a year, depending on location, taxes, experience. If you have a post-grad degree you can make nearly double that. I decline to tell you my exact salary. Where I come from, it's rather rude to ask someone how much they make (which I know you didn't specifically ask for). I don't mind offering the above averages though.

My friend who's teaching there actually has all of his housing expenses paid off by his company, so he basically keeps all of his money.

Not too uncommon. I don't pay market value for my apartment. The company pays over a certain amount.

Maybe, I don't mind being represented, but all I see is clutter. That stuff, the idea of most of that stuff, appeals to me, but seeing all of it together? It's just clutter! Personally, I don't want any of it. Not in a bedroom, not in an office. Too much stuff. How can you even think in a room that cluttered?
