That might be an artifact of the layout process, unless you've not actually done a lot of projects with your studio and just happen to have done a lot of work with sailor earth. There's a lot of places where the layout is obviously not optimal -- i.e. editors with only one MEP positioned way far away from that MEP, when there's "obviously" a better spot somewhere else. There's ways for me to tweak it such as through specifying initial positions, which is something I'm looking into.

Am I that much of an AMV media icon that they needed me on the project to sell it to the public? I kind of thought the other way. I figured since I haven't made a decent video in years that people avoided my shit like bio-engineered crazed, flesh eating, locusts on steroids.

Touché!
I guess my greatness is lost even to me :P

aparently "coordinating" a mep doesn't come into positions either, as my two meps are somewhat of a distance from my name O.o

Despite the fact that CDVV people and other random people are around me too :P

You're just the center of everything.

trythil wrote:Oh, right. Here's a hypothesis I meant to throw in my original post: the MEP scene is highly inbred.

Quite. It's a lot of the same people, over and over, with a scattering of others thrown in for good measure. Sounds like any other social network.

Yeah, that's not considered at all. Trythil, work in a way to consider that!

I'm not sure how easy it'll be, especially since there's no explicit way to pull that information from video information pages (and if you think I'm going to flag all 1,564 video entries in the dataset, you're insane). A useful heuristic might go something like "first member listed is the coordinator", though.

"the first member listed" is the coordinator - or atleast the person who entered it into the database O.o

but usually its the coordinator that lists it in the database... i dont know of a mep specifically where it wasnt the coordinator that entered it

Well, to give a concrete example of where the "first member listed is coordinator" rule doesn't quite work, there's AMV Hell 3/4, which has two coordinators: Zarxrax and ssgwnbtd.

I got a kick out of this. Although, in all fairness I get a kick out of anything I can find my name in.

I'm left wondering who the 'Kevin Bacons' are of large center graph. Those editors with the fewest connections to everyone else in the web?

Not to mention Animix, who really isn't anybody at all. :P

I like that idea; maybe it's something that can be thrown into that interactive viewer thing I was talking about :)

Well, I haven't made may MEPs with my studio. But I've done more MEPs that Sailor Earth was not involved in. It is just a mater of lacking most of the MEPs I've been in. It's just a funny little thing I noticed. It's either just random based on the variables, your your algorithm just doesn't like me much ^^

I find it amusing that my name is closer to some MEPs that I didn't participate in than the one I coordinated.

A lot of the editors listed near me are the ones I talk to the most (JaddziaDax, jubjub2, moonie211), or are my favorite editors (the above mentioned, SenshiMamoru, jade_eyed_angel.) The are a couple MEPs close to me the I didn't participate in, but would have, had I known about them (mostly the Yuri MEP.) Kind of freaky how it knows me so well. :P
