actually it would be kind of a pain lol I mean, just try and get some 'music video making' theory out on youtube.com?? The LAMV community by and large seems to be filled with casual fans. It's not that hard to find a good movie or get caught up in Harry Potter mania. The AMV community is a whole other (MUCH more stubborn and ornery... kinda' like a jackass) animal. I'd rather not have to deal with a billion HP fans as big as this. I mean GAD! :3

But comparing Tacos and burritos is more akin to say, AMVs and MADs. Both fall under very similar fan-bases. Now, Burgers would constitute a very different and separate fan base from tacos. You may have people who like both, but that doesn't mean they should both be available at the taco bell. O:

YOUR ANALOGY IS MAKING ME HUNGRY!

lol! a hamburger is a hamburger and a taco is a taco! A burrito is not a hamburger!!

Ooh, low blow.

I may have backed down, but I've got a question. If Live Action shouldn't be incorporated here, then why are games?

As long as the games are from Japan, like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, they pretty much fall through the cracks on this one.

Haha, I'll go with that. I assume something like the Live Action Death Note would be taking it too far though, huh?

I can see games passing due to the fact that while it may be footage from game cinematics, it's still "Japanese ANIMATION". Regardless of the fact that the footage was taken from a game disc and not from a non-interactive DVD video. I'm not saying that I would look at the Final Fantasy cinematics and say "That's anime." But I'd certainly say it qualifies far more than any live-action film, anime-inspired or not.

I know I read somewhere that REAL TIME game footage is not aloud... oh yeah, it's in the rules, you know that block of letters before you upload something?? Yeah, somebody actually reads those :o
Of coarse, this is only for EIGHTY PERCENT of the video :? If 80% of your video (or most of it) is good, than it's considered an amv.

The exception to all of this is The Final Fantasy movie, The Spirits Within one. That's because, unlike Advent Children, The Spirits Within was made in Hawaii so it doesn't pass ;? RAWWWWR! Japanese media :o

Correct. Remember though that you can incorporate live-action footage into an AMV. Such as if you went with a video that was mostly the Death Note anime combined with footage from the films.

If anyone knows of a good live action music video for the X-files, I`d be much appreciated. My boyfriend might stop rolling his eyes at AMVs if I can get him to relate to them a little, ahah :3

Actually I made one to "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran quite a while ago but it's curently not online... It turned out quite good and a couple of cast members did actually see it for the con it was made for.
