The First 35 Seconds Of AMV History

Additional Footage To Be Used In The Video

It's not quite done yet...but what can I say, I just love being a tease. Eh heh heh heh... The video, when complete (sometime in January), will have 80% of the song lyrics lip synched! It's going to be entitled Nelvana's Inspiration. Because the whole basis behind it is, hey if Nelvana can take 70 episodes of an anime, turn them into 35, and in the process alter every last character personality, setting, and plot...so can I. Only where Nelvana did a hack job, I'm gonna do a good job. ^_^

Nearly ALL the footage in the video will be digitally edited. Unfortunately those who aren't really familiar with Cardcaptor Sakura won't be able to truly appreciate the beauty of the design, but whether it's the lip synch, reversing and cross splicing video segments, creating conversations between two characters that never even happened, making a characters eyes close, suck their thumb, you name it, I'm gonna do it. `, )

Here's a quick example of some of the cross clip editing I did in the first 35 seconds.

As you can see I took the mouth from clip 02, roated it at a 20 degree angle and then superimposed it onto the second image...and keep in mind I did this frame...by frame...by frame. o_O

And here's what the final product of those two frames looks like:

That's why on most of the edits I did I used a frame fade to accent the changes. It's most prevalent in the scene where Sakura sucks her thumb, also when Sakura closes her eyes in the main clip. Makes it hard to not notice the lil stuff. ^_^

I am about to die from the sugar that is oozing out of every orfice of that video. I don't know about that song man....

I would first DO it, then announce it. Now you have all this pressure of completing it.

That's why I NEVER mentioned MisatoLove to anyone since I didn't want a bunch of pressure on my back to make it... Look what happened, never got made... pheeww.. Someday though!!!

LOL

Yeah that's actually sort of the idea, to make a heart stabbingly emotional video about poor Sakura who has no mother but wishes she did. Gonna be passing out the tissues at the end of it, boy lemme tell ya! ^_^

Plus the song has never been used before, so that makes it a plus. Actually it came down to "Somewhere Out There", "Cowboy Mouth - Lovers Or Friends", and "Tiffany - I Want A Mom To Last Forever", and the last wound up being the front runner. In February I probably will make a Cardcaptor Sakura video with "Lovers Or Friends", but not until I finish this first one. I never work on more than one AMV at a time.

Eh, I always finish what I start, I said January, it'll be done in January (or perhaps sooner depending on what other stuff I'm working on this month).

Well I've got the luxury of being an artist, meaning that I don't have some silly 9 to 5 job or school or anything. House, food, entertainment, etc is already paid for, so all I have to do, all day long, is be creative. : )

Quite a pretentious statement, only time and reviews will prove your worth. Until that point you're just another sappy amv maker.

He who accentuates subtlety replaces it with pretention.

He who proclaims his own brilliance often stands in the dark.

I don't think so. I did stuff in that first 35 seconds and the sample clip that's never really been done before. Kevin Caldwell, aside from choosing some obscure music with good clips, really didn't do much besides some semi-precise lip synching. As far as pure editing the boy slacks off major. In all his videos every single clip is straight forward, no edits besides lip synching, he doesn't even use something as simple as reversing video segments or altering frame rates.

only time and reviews will prove your worth.

He, he, he, perhaps, but I think all the proof is going to be in the pudding so to speak when it's done. Not that you'll even notice most of it...but that's the point. See you'll see things in the video that never even happened in the series and yet, you won't even see it unless you're a die hard CCS fan.

Until that point you're just another sappy amv maker.

Name a single other video besides mine which uses frame by frame photo editing in order to alter a setting, scene, plot, or character movement. I'm bettin you're gonna have a hard time coming up with one, and even if you can I doubt it's anywhere near on par with what I did...of course the best has yet to be seen. I've got a few other clip segments done, but I won't share those just yet. Like the one where Sakura is talking to Yukito and he hands her some flowers...only I replaced him with Sakura's mother (from flash back sequences), the hands and the flower of Yukito were left in but Sakura's mother was superimposed and blended in on top, again using frame by frame editing. In the end I created a scene that never even happened and won't be found nor recognized in ANY other AMV, making mine TRULY original in every repsect.

I would watch it, but I never got into CCS and probably wouldn't be able to appreciate it. And you must admit it is rather pretentious to proclaim yourself to be able to surpass Caldwell before you've actually done anything big yet.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.
