I don't see how Americans would take offense to that... I found it quite amusing. ^^ Besides, Americans always crack jokes about Canadians, why shouldn't Canadians crack jokes about Americans? Like... "Hey! Look at me! I'm a hillbilly! And there are hillbillies in America. Ha! Ha. Ha..." Or something like that.
