Alright well... I'm really kinda new to this site. I only have a couple of videos out, and I'm just hanging out for the time being... 8)

But I will try to put my two cents in on this matter. Is it just me, or does the entire a-m-v.org community just seem like one big, hostile feud sometimes? When I visit sites like this, (I'm a long time member and visitor of fanfiction.net, and I've made many *wonderful* friends there) I would like it to be a positive experience.

I dunno, it just seems like most people here are all for the taking as opposed to the giving. I really do prefer the giving aspect; it includes everything from giving well rounded opinions when you download a person's video to being helpful in the forum if someone needs assistance.

As for the posts at the beginning of this thread, I agree completely. Only video creators should have the right to give in depth reviews to videos. I've just seen one too many fan opinions giving perfect tens... heck, I've even got a couple of them myself, and I KNOW that I'm not deserving of it. We all want to improve our videos in the future, not grovel in unwarranted praise... right?

Of course, I'm certainly not trying to offend anyone at all, but those are my personal, very heartfelt thoughts about this community thus far.

Obviously I can't speak on behalf of everyone but I've genuinely made some great friends here.

I tend to find that the bitterness in the org is very particular - one person doesn't like this person, someone thinks that this video is better than this etc. but there's a lot of very positive friendships that you might not see at first.

It's an odd community this one but I think there are some very good aspects as well.

I think the most important thing is to not get bothered about personal disputes. There's always going to be people who have a problem with something - especially when competition is involved - but it's easy to ignore and it shouldn't detract from the experience as a whole because I think most people find video making, contest entering, and amv chatting to be quite an enjoyable pastime.

Guys like Orion are new on the AMV scene and for the newbies still coming on board, I want to at least be able to show some of them that making AMVs can be fun as hell but can be a very powerful tool when expressing yourself as well as trying to get a message across to the audiences.

Hey Jen, instead of shaking your head, why not try and think about what Joe and I and so many others are trying to explain about AMVs. They can be fun as hell to make.

But there are some of us who like to give an artistic message to those people out there to show them hidden meanings within the anime sometimes with life itself.

I was mentioned. ^_^ Cool. Hehe. But yeah, Machine here is the one that I was really have had the contact with here, and he's always have given me the impression that makin' AMV's was for the fun and the love of the anime, not for the glory. Is this point here wrong or what??

I can actually think of one - Haruka (spelling??) from Otaku Productions and her Eden AMV.

"...try and think about what Joe and I... are trying to explain about AMVs." - MACHINE

Oh, I think about many things... but when you go and claim that only YOU and a few other people here... out of a community of nearly 30,000... are the ONLY ones who can recognise art in an AMV...

...well, I think about what and arrogant elitist ponce you must be. And I shake my head.

(not that I speak for the other 26,832 a-m-v.org people here {as of 9:52pm} who DON'T have a grasp of what art is within an AMV... "true" or otherwise.)

Haha, that's funny that you try to disagree with what machine has said. Anyone who has a brain knows that this amv community is still in it's infancy and the majority of artists are just getting started. With so many people just starting out do you really think many people can understand what an amv is? Sorry but he isn't an elitist. Just a realist. Not everyone is fucking mozart so quit with the equality shit. Fact is, most amvs suck and most amv artists have no idea what they are doing.

There aren't that many people I don't like in a personal kind of way. Those around here I don't like are mostly stubborn dbz fans and the like, it's not really personal.
Mag Launcher, I don't like you.

PS. I may change my mind, but I'll need convincing...

Woah Mag chill out. Anyway anime music videos have been around along time since the late 70s and vcrs started popping up. Elitism is stupid. You know I Saw another video by aluminium studios I liked. It was that torn song to perfect blue. If him and Ek are burned out that is their affair but this community in my oppinion is perfect.

Umm... I'm not EK, I'm Ek1. It's an initial to my real name.

EK is actually Big Big Truck

Sad to hear the news EK. I agree with the whole review thing and, as Tobin said, I beleve that there in not a video made that deserves all tens. I take the time to reply to all the reviews that people write me and I really like it when people reply to the ones that I write them, a simple thank you would be better than nothing.
