Your most difficult challenge...

What was the hardest/toughest amv you've edited?

I've got a tie between Dancing Stars and Moonlight Vengeance (both from FtR)...

The NES Project entry I'm doing is also very ambitious and I'm squeezing by... [barely]

Any others?

My NES project entry is already becoming pretty difficult to plan..

A while back, maybe a year or so ago I tried to make a dbz video to the song schism by tool (7 plus min long), with a person being hit every syllable... I got 3 min (200 some clips) in after 2 solid weeks of editing at least 2-3 hours a day, almost commit suicide, and eventually gave up.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I would have to say my Transcending Love video... 2-3 months of solid work and it just about made me go insane....Wait a minute, it DID make me go insane, I just don't know it yet.

None. The hardest one I'm going to be doing is this damned NES project video, since I have to have 9 DVDs worth of VOBs or so on my HD plus MJPEG copies for fast editing. :(

I definitly need those extra 80GB HDs now. :)

The Fushigi Yuugi comedy video I am working on is pretty tough. Content and method are rather tedious. At least the dvd ripping has become old hat for me now. ^.^

Well Sin was difficult because of all the laborous beat matching but other than that I would say my Harlock video since it was terrible and suffered from so many flaws that I just dropped the project and cut the song short, Harlock never moves at all in his own show so a comedy video involving an upabeat song became annoying.

Ugh..one of the vids I'm currently working on right now which is "Faded" to Trigun.. There's alot of repeated lyrics in it and I hate to use scenes that I've already used once...just a peeve of mine...and the RoD vid I'm working on..trying to figure out how to incorporate the 1975 lyric into it..or just ignore it altoghter. :?

The current video I'm working on. There is a lot of reapeating lyrics at the end of the song and I would like to lip synch them. Plus there is a lot of lip syncing in middle as well. I'm also trying to get everything to match the beat.

I second that. The current video I'm working on. It's music is kinda hiphop/ragga with much much lyrics to fit the scenes to, and and a very fast-paced beat. But the hardest problem is fitting all 8 Eva DVDs + the End of Eva onto my harddrive... also the lo-qual MJPEGs have to be there, too :?

Lots...

Postby anneke » Tue Nov 19, 2002 10:26 am

Well...

Kagome In Wonderland... I counted one day almost 100 crashes to Premeire while I was working on it. Now I've learned to save every second and this avoids some of the crashs.

Corporate Sex Slave... Lots of lip synching, and beat matching, and well the footage was very disturbing to work with.

Heterosexuality... Again, working with the footage. Ofcourse the song didn't help much either.

Dance With Me... This one is becoming very time consuming with lots of layers. It's not to diffecult, just alot of effects which ofcourse take more time then not.

I was tried to make an emotional DBZ video called "The soul of a fighter," Its hard making a good video in the first place but an emotional, non fighting video is even harder. I came out alright but I didn't wont to release it due to the fact that it was a DBZ related video. I might go back and remake it for the release of "Best of MAS Productions volume 1"

In general, getting back into the groove of making vids after being out of it for nearly 5 years.

Specifically... I'd second (or is it third?) the NES project vid. All my other vids, I had heard the song (or one of the others I worked with) and gone "Hey, I've got a neat video idea for this...". With the NES project (at least in my case- I basically said 'OK, just give me whatever isn't taken' since there wasn't any one that jumped out at me) I'm actually having more trouble with coming up with what to do. Actually doing it (while likely not a walk in the park) will probably seem easy...

Hmmm... toughest one to make... probably Mystery Yaoi Theater 3000, since I started one week before the deadline...
A close tie with that would probably be The Fanservice video (my original one, not the remake), since i spent hours upon hours laboriously editing out subtitles in photoshop, then more hours teaching myself how to lip sync properly.
