annoying myspace codes

Postby JaddziaDax » Thu Oct 20, 2005 10:27 pm

hay you know all those annoying posts looking for "video codes" for AMVs??

well this site has been pointed out to me:

http://www.youtube.com/

you can upload and host your AMVs and they will give you stupid codes to put on your myspace Zanga website or whatever....

I just thought I'd start a thread and let everyone know, if this is the wrong place, feel free to move it, and if its too "off topic" feel free to lock it..

but yea, its kind of a heads up/FYI

I just wish people knew that it was called "HTML" rather than "codes".

I just wish people would write valid HTML whenever they wrote HTML.

...can we pretend we never saw that site? The last thing we need is more webpages with video on autoplay.

I've already had at least two of my videos uploaded there without the people who uploaded them even having asked me first. :P

Not that I mind, and it's not like they tried to take credit for 'em or anything, but I just hope the people who see 'em realize that the horrible macroblocking is probably common to every video that gets put up there converted from .AVI or .MPEG and not necessarily the original encoder's fault.

Wow, those sites that have amv hell showing on them... I haven't seen personal sites that look that bad in like 5 years now. I feel so honored.

The sorts of people who are going to be using these ...sites are not going to care about macroblocking. I would bet that they have problems even spelling "macroblocking." Or "AVI."

omglolomglol... omg, lol. fin.

Yea I know HTML, (or atleast basic)... I just thought I'd put it in simple terms :P for those who post "do you have myspace codes??"

I've had one of mine posted up there without my permission, I even had someone contact me from it, and thats how I ended up figuring it out...

Euphoria is up there too :P amongst several other well known AMVs... or atleast several AMVs I have seen :)

and Kalium, the videos arent on auto play, you actually have to press a button to get them to start, so there is atleast one plus about the site :)

What browser? I'm using Opera 8, and every time I visit one of those pages, the video's automatically playing and I have to hit the button to get it to STOP.

I am on IE and the youtube.com ones have to click a play button in the center of the screen to make them play for me.

(and I found two more of my videos on there o.0... just now.. same person though)

Thanks for the translation. JaddziaDax.

Admittedly, I'm lazy, but I had never actually taken the trouble to figure out that "do u hv the myspace codes 4 me to hv vidz???" meant "Can someone paste the snippet of HTML I'd need to make a video autoplay on my myspace page? And do I have to host it somewhere else, or can I just point to the copy on .org?"
