To piss off people like you, who try to assert things that they have no evidence for.

I'm going to agree with thy here. Stating that any form of creation serves one purpose and one purpose only is stupid and you probably didnt think much before posting that did you? Thats the problem with this place. Too many damn kids who talk shit, believing they're right and unable to accept that the magority of the time they're wrong.

I just wanna see what you're going to say, but are you referring to Beowulf as well?

(I'm just wondering if you have a dick of your own)

My goals are either:

To entertain
To envoke an emotion
To significantly bother the viewer

The latter is always fun

AMV is my art. I cant do anything else like drawing or singing, so i edit AMV's.... It's usualy a bumpy road but there's no more satifying moment than finishing an AMV.

And I havn't seen any fangirls.... should I add my pic to my new AMV for that?

I was refering to your stupid coment stating that amv's sole reason for being is to entertain. I create amv's simply for the satisfaction I get from building something. Its similar (somewhat anyway) to the feeling I get when building a pc from a bunch of parts, get a custom install of windows, overclock the vid card for a little extra oomph, run 3dmark to see the prety colours and make sure the thigns stable. Such effort may or may not be worth the physical result but its certianly worth the sence of satisfaction and pride I have in myself when I'm finished. Off cource there are other reasons such as the need to burn the pot of fuel that's my creative genius (or something).

Far as Beo goes, I'l only suck him off if his brother is doing me from behind. They're brothers, ya cant have one without the other.

I think a AMV serves Multiple purposes on different levels.

The creator:

Level 1: It is a sense of satisfaction to see something you put time into finnaly come together in a way were it expresses feelings and emotions in a very strong way. That is usually what the AMV is aimed at. No whether other people think it's good or not really doesn't matter to some because they think it's good for them.

Level 2: it's way to test one's skills and enhance them to the point where they are trying to make the best video for a certain anime. It's no longer the desire to create something and be rpoud of it but rather the feeling of reating something that is the best. These kinds rely solely on the reviews of others. If the opinions state it's a bad video then they will be dissapointed with it as well.

Level 3: Now this is probably one of the few reasons create music videos. These videos aren't created because they want to, or they want to improve their skills, it's created to make others happy. They get a sense of self satisfaction but not from making it or getting it done. Nor is it because they wanted the best video. The reason they make it is to see others tell how much they love watching it.

I make AMVs to push out overdriven and chorus pedal'd funk into the streams of consciousness of hep cats everywhere. I am a trader of grating realities and images, coercing a feeling from the bowels of your subconscious through a combination of propaganda and riveting noise. Contact is made through sight and sound to a final explosion of fury and drama resulting in the complete destruction of mundane thought and feeling, ultimately creating a reaction, be it good or bad.

For all those lost by his post. He uses good music to create a feeling inside you and visually appealing sequences to extract a reaction. Whether it's good or bad he doesn't care.

My reason is not for my own entertainment, it's mainly to mix my two favourite hobbies together, metal and anime. I just seem to use the most obvious of anime to the most unknown artists. If I get enjoyment out of my own videos, hell thats a bonus, just because I make a video doesn't always mean I'll enjoy it and there are quite a few I wish I didn't make.

Its my excuse to spend more time on the computer looking for porn. To keep the wife from getting suspicious, once in awhile I'll crank out an actual AMV.

There's someone else who contradicts himself in here, but he's my friend, so I won't.

Obviously, the reason I edit is to be the LEETEST MOFO ON TEH PLANET!

j/k.. I think it was because I was bored one day.

Personally, I have fun editing.
