It would be helpful if you had a list of questions or specific topics that you'd like us to chime in on...
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

To answer you question on when its done. I think that i depends one what you are making it for. If you making it compete in contest i would suggest doing it until you think it was done, run some betas by other people, use there feedback and fix what you think need sto be fixed and then you should be done. If you are doing a video just to do it then its done whenever you say its done. There is not real timeline for all videos. Unless you are doing an iron chef of something thenits done whenevr you time is up.

As far as video editing programs i have always used premier, it was had to learn at first but i think its the best, i cant even figure out movie maker ass it is now. but if you are a budget and have a fast learning curve you could get a trial version o premier. You got 30 days to put out a great video.

Instead of the college final thread, you might post threads for your specific questions. You would get a better base of data from that than just a single thread. Just look at the "quick comments" thread! That will probably be here for months to come.... ;)

i think the OP didn't ask specific questions at first because he's looking for suggestions for topics to include.

to the OP: here's thorblitzer's thesis, which might help you come up with ideas and/or provide specifics to refer to: http://thorblitzer.totaldamageequalsdea ... Thesis.htm

also, figure out the scope of your thesis before you go into specific questions.

And you're in college?

Wow, educational standards are getting lower and lower.

lol you guys are mean. why does your grammar matter on website about cartoon music videos? seriously i think it's cool he's doing this project anyway.

ok here are my answers:
1. In your opinion what is the best and worst program to use when you are on a strict budget but want to make the best video?
Best: Windows Movie Maker - > Anyone can get their hands on it, and its not too bad to use. Of course, you can't do anything complex, but there are quite a few excellent videos with no serious effects and no complex synching (check: )
Worst: VideoWave-> I used to use this program. YUCK! No fun, and way too hard to use. Plus it costs $99.

2. How do you know when your vid is done, are there certain requirements that each vid has to meet before it is acceptable?
My last video I plotted out, section by section, and I was done once I'd completed the whole song. My only standard is that I fixed all the problems people mentioned in their ops on my last video, and that I learned new things and improved my own skill.

Good luck with your project!
