Have you ever had a great idea for a clip to use in your AMV, but you don't have the source clip you need? Lots of us have had that problem, including myself. A lot of times the clip you need is in another AMV that you've downloaded and you think to yourself "This would fit great, if only I wouldn't get harped on for using this clip..."
Well, my friends, I say: LET THEM USE THE CLIP!
A lot of newbie AMV makers as well as vets don't have capture cards or any number of factors needed to get the clip from the DVD/VHS to your computer, and that's where the "Credit Where It's Due Policy" steps in.
My fellow AMV director Katara and I have set up a policy that is very forgiving to other AMV makers and would like to see more people adopt the policy for their own!
It's very simple: ASK! All you have to do is ASK the Original AMV Maker (OAMVM for short) to use the clip. If you can't get a hold of the OAMVM, that’s ok! Just add a credit to your vid or website (or both) that says it's not all yours.
If you're nice to them, and the OAMVM isn't mean, why would he/she turn you down?
We at More Better Studios feel that if more people adopted this policy, more good AMVs would be made with more cooperation between all AMV makers (both newbies and OGs), building a happier AMV makers community!
Thank you for your time! I'll be happy to respond to feedback/questions on my AIM screen name "Rob Kenchu" or by e-mail "Rob-Kenchu@morebetterstudios.com"
