Seeing a scene in an AMV that makes me go "I just have to see that show!"

Anything that makes me >really< laugh.

I like the pleasant little surprise of seeing something you would NEVER download on your own, and really liking it.

Warm, fuzzy opinions and quick comments.

Nitpicky and instructive opinions. I have learned a lot from those.

Reading Godix's posts - they always make me laugh. In some sort of way. (His wife is a SAINT, btw... Nice dedication.... )

Seeing videos actually made from the suggestions forum.

when people are able to get their problems solved in the technical help forums.

when an effect i try out comes out better than i expect.

when progress is made on the instrumental anime project :P

when i see a creator improve from one video to the next.

After weeks/months of editing with crappy MJPEGs, I love the feeling of anticipation during the AVS->Huffy->MPEG2 encode process...and then I love viewing the final product in pristine quality on my TV after burning to a DVD.

....followed by the inevitable rework after I notice timing issues during said viewing

My absolute favorite thing about AMVs is driving around in my car, listening to a song I've listened to a dozen times before, and then being hit so hard with an idea that I want to tell everyone I know about it...(this, btw, has only happened about 3 times to me ever).
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

I like coming up with video ideas that i'm excited to make.. but actually making them is a different story. |:

encoding a beta, watching what you have, and experiencing that feeling when you realize it's all coming together the way you wanted it to

-quick comments. That goes both ways I think.

-genuinely weird videos that make me scratch my head, repeatedly. Or die of laughter.

-genuinely good-looking videos that flow well, look excellent, and are just a pleasure to watch for entertainment/relaxation/action-fix.

-videos done to music that I already know very well and love, mostly music that is largely disregarded. And I swear, I'll marry the first person other than me that makes a King Crimson AMV.

-the forums. For a variety of things.

-the whole process of exchanging betas and so forth. As useless as I am in terms of technical feedback, it's awesome seeing works as they progress, and it's awesome getting other people's perspectives and suggestions on your work. Even just to make sure you're sane.

-the process of coming up with AMV ideas and brainstorming. Especially when things come ex nihilo, so to say.

I love seeing more and more quality AMVs being released each day.

I love going to cons to see the best of the best being screened.

I love meeting editors in person and being able to discuss their work and thought processes. It's nice to know a lot of them are really good people. I tend to enjoy and check out their works even more.

I love having a site like this to share my thoughts and videos.

I love seeing someone say that one of my videos has made them want to check out FLCL (or, now, FY:ED).

And I love it when I'm editing a video or part of a video that's just so stupidly amusing that it makes me giggle every time I see it.

I also love finding filter chains that really make footage look better and compress better.

and of course, when it happens, I love being pleasantly surprised to find out one of my videos has won something. Who doesn't?

I got a comment that read "You are the God of AMVs"

If not for the fact that I don't believe him that would have been a huge ego inflater.

Oh yea, and audience responses to my stranger AMV's are always a joy, in a twisted way. Highlights would be the sheer variety of comments on my latest video (seriously, it's amazing how differently people can describe the same thing with equal validity), the large number of different ops I got on my best-known AMV (many of which really presented perspectives on it that I never thought of myself) - or any detailed op that really opens up new perspectives on my own work.
And of course, Assumption of Innocence in front of a live con audience. That one's a pure Mastercard moment

Bwaahaahaa

I never get fun ones like that. But it's really not as much fun in quick comments, since you can't respond to them like you can opinions.

Fortunately for me, someone did respond similarly in opinion form and I had a chance to reply:

"Going to hell? I'm sure Jesus thinks (this) is funny as hell, He's prolly laughin' it up right now, showing (it) to the angels."

*That short spark of innovation I get when starting a new AMV.

*That feeling of placidness I get when I get to my final export of an AMV.

*Seeing noob videos with technical shortfalls but also with obvious shining potential.

*Dropping a clip on the timeline, hitting preview, and watching it accidentally synch up.

*Making a brilliant cut.

*Getting hit by the proverbial train that tells you exactly which scene to put for this part of the music.

*Getting QCs like "i downloaded it and it plays just the audio?? and theres no vid", "umm....", and "MOKNEY DONG".

*Calculating that somebody just gave me a 5 star rating on my video.

*This little circle
