Has anyone ever made an AMV entirely in AVISynth?

Postby inthesto » Sun Oct 02, 2005 2:10 am

I know I've done videos entirely in VDub, but videos entirely in AVS would be a thousand times more masochistic.

Thus, I pose the question: HAS IT BEEN DONE?

Atom, I'll have you know that the next time you wake up, there's going to be a giant pool of blood on your sheet, concentrated around your crotch.

Then, when you look over your bed, there's going to be a crushed pile of something that used to be your testicles.

Not at all. AVISynth actually allows nonlinear editing operations, and is actually more powerful than most nonlinear editors in some ways, as it allows for limited programmability.

Sure it's scripting, but AVISynth script is trivial to master.

Clarification:

The AVISynth filter chain is of course programmable in the sense that you can change what it does. I'm referring to the ability to perform branches, loops (via recursion, anyway) and so forth.

There's a better term, but my brain is currently fried, so.

You say that as if I were master of anything.

Well, other than your anus.

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=88502 (the assistant principal's big day segment)
http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=924 (oh noez not anime)
and a yet to be released animasia segment.

debugging long nested 'dissolve' chains sucks.

there was a post by someone who described how he broke his avisynth scripts into subroutines - one for importing sources, several for editing different segments, one for concatenating, one for post processing, and one master script to call the subroutines. i can't find the post, but it's probably a good idea in terms of debugging, modularity, and not scaring onlookers.
