Getting Ripped Off...

Postby XHunter » Fri Sep 30, 2005 12:43 am

one of the problems with puting your AMV on the web is other people who dont have any editing skills at all stealing clips from your AMV and claming them as thire own... yeah I know it pisses me off to but you can solve this by Cropping your video and buting a watermark with your name on it that way when people steal your clip you can prove that it was your they stole.

How would that deter them? So you prove that it's yours. So? What will you do from that point?

if you see a video that has taken footage from one of your own, leave a ticket in the moderator's drop box and they will investigate it.

When this happens, you know you've made it.

I'll laugh if his answer has anything to do with legal action. :P

Then I'll point out the vast stupidity of it all.

Dude this just shows you how people that are lazy. They say we can't get dvds here, we can't download fansubs, there is always something you can do but you have to be willing to do it. By adding watermarks and cropping your video it does help stop them from stealing your clips but it detracts from your creation. Like downwithpants said leave a note with one of the mods and they'll check it out.

Personaly I would pimp the vid in my sig with a pic explaining the pathetic quality of the editors skills and (lack of) penis size, give the vid a long flame OP that dietails every last minute error and imperfection, and write a few journal entries about the whole thing. Now I just need some batmonkeys to find a vid thats stolen 2 seconds of footage from Blue Outline.

Then you insult their bra cup size, obviously.

Are you serious?!

You make your AMV by stealing from the original anime, and then complain when somebody does the exact same thing to you?

Imagine the original animators felt the same way! This site would be shut down within 24 hours.

First off, it's not theft. Don't get me started on that. Second off, we tend to cite what anime and music we use. People who use other AMVs tend not to cite which ones they use, passing off someone else's work as their own. That's plagarism.

I think girls lack a basic componant of stupidity nessicary to take a wildly popular video from a website and try to pass it of as your own to the very people who were fans of it in the first place.
