As a person who watches a total of about 15 amvs a year (not including my own) I really have a limited amount of exposure.
It's probably no shock that I really enjoy
Beowulf's videos. When he breaks out the action in a high powered emotional video like
Hail To The Thief or just a pure action fun video like
Natural Born Killers I can tell he's not holding back at all. He's definitely careful to maintain pace and emotion... and strangely considerate of the audience he often mocks verbally (outside of the videos)...
Dead to the World is a great example of a piece of work which probably has more meaning to him than any of us could even begin to understand. I can only guess myself what he really thinks as he watches/edits a video of such epic proportions... Alternatively, people who make pandering videos ... do exactly that... they pander to the crowd, often times making it clear that the passion to create and express themselves is not a source of inspiration... instead they are just feeding off of others, which may be the primary reason they will one day quit when their source of inspiration wanes due to the shift in attention to certain amv styles etc. (in the community and fandom in general)
I don't love all of Beo's work. I have my favorites, and they are my favorites because they are incredibly entertaining and powerful. I may have not answered the question properly... because on any given day my mood may change and would force me to consider another as my
favorite editor.
There are a whole pile of editors I enjoy... (15 videos can cover a lot of people... roffles

)
