Circle jerking? That's for n00bs. Real men play Ookie Cookie.
But us women can't really play that (not as well, anyhow), so it's perfect for you guys.

On-topic, I agree with SarahtheBoring. I don't always remember the names of the people whose videos I watch. The only way I ever even find out who's a "good" editor is from threads like this.

I'd say my favorite guy is Michael Gondry... except he does REAL music videos.

The creator of this post named two of the best out of there: Fluxmeister and jBone, although, to be honest, I prefer jBone. And what he said about jBone, that you need to watch his videos more than once before you begin to really appreciate them.

Urban Ragnarok is easily my favorite AMV. Even though Metropolis isn't my absolute favorite anime video, jBone really does it justice.. and you don't see many good ELO videos, although ELO is easily one of the greatest musical artists of all time (The "orchestra" I mean).

Well, Sarah I guess people just got tired of watching Godix fellate himself all the time.

I can't say for certain they are the best, but near the top of my opped list is populated by:

Bakadeshi - Consistently good, with solid editing and effects skills.
Otohiko - It's like looking at artwork, and liking it. (not counting that Turkish thing)
Brain Carnival - Solid, tightly paced editing with a clean blend of effects
Tsunami Jones - Sarcastic humor works for me.
Flint the Dwarf - Unassumingly good videos, with strong story value.

Other videos that I watch, but haven't scored might be:
Hitori - Karumi.... eheheh...
Zarxrax - "tell me what you want, what you really really want...."
Moonlight Soldier - Fun and enjoyable
SarahTheBoring - Quirky and enjoyable (in spite of what she insists)
MexianJunior - Perverted for sure, but still pretty good at what he does. (except that tub thing gahk.)
StarMasayume - Fun, and endearing.
Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

True. However I get tired of picking on Trythil all the time (it's just too easy) so I was going to let her posting pass....

Should I change my sig to "I HAVE FEMALE GENETALIA!" -_- Why do people always assume I'm male?

But to be on topic. all of the editors mentioned in this post are good, but really, for a lot of people it's not always the technically *best* creators that become people's favorties, rather those who make AMVs for the genres and animes that they like. My favorite editors aren't really that great objectively, but because I love shoujo and YAOI I like their stuff the best. ^^;;

Arigatomina, Sierra Lorna, and Aluminum Studios are pretty much tied as my favorite.

Not my intent. If anything, having a favorite editor means that you have close friends in the community, and I envy that. The wistful why-do-I-have-to-suck-so-bad envy, not the mean kind. So don't be silly. When have I ever claimed to be better than anyone? :P

Anyway, friendship is the power that will save the universe, like they tell us in all the shoujo anime. Cue the group hug with sparkles in the background that will probably fuel a thousand perverted doujin artists.

Bakadeshi, Sierra Lorna and Otohiko..

I just love Bakadeshi's AMV's, He knows how and where to use effects on Romance Videos.
Sierra has a nice style, and pulls out videos with both effects and elegance (Just like her style)

And well.. Oto comes up with weird ideas.. That no one but him would ever pull out.

wow thanks for the love ;p

lets see, I don;t realy like to say I have favorite editors per say, but I can list editors that I will automatically download from right away if I see them release something, So I'll list my top editors in that regards as per category:

When I want Romance: Dwchang always delivers, ... well almost always ;p Then theres Vlad, and MeriC sometimes, and Koop usually does good stuff here aswell. SnhKnives impressed me with his Ai Yori one, so I'll look out for more from him there too, though its hard to judge on only 1 romance video.

When I want Action or adrenaline: Sierra Lorna's one of my faovorites here, then theres Zarxrax when I want realy good effects goodness, aswell as JCD as of late, Oh, Ocasionally Nostromo does something I like, I love his style of action editing, though often he doesn't quite share my taste in music. Kwasek just put himself on the list with his latest entry to Pro, loved that ROD vid. Recently been liking Tylers stuff also. But my all time favorite editor for just pure action synch and flow has got to be Fluxmeister.

For Drama and artistic sense: Silvermoon, Otohiko, and Koop.

For Sentimental: Probably Vlad. sometimes koop here also. I think ive liked every single sentimental video Vlad has put out though. something I can't say for sure about anyone else. And my favorite sentimental video period is made by him (Memories dance)

I guess it all boils down to pretty much all the good editors that share my taste in music and anime is on my favorite editors list ;p

Since it appears that some mod just deleted my post I guess I have to try a 2nd time (this time with a bit explaination.

- Pokich

Normally my taste depends a lot on the use of the music but his videos are done so great using subversiv methods of sync and non-visual effects that I ignore the fact he uses Rammstein and such bands. I really like the strong and thick atmosphere his videos create. I guess I just like him cause his editing style is absolutely unique.

- Rubyeye
He got me into AMVs with his great artworks. First of all I dld my first video on Kazaa by mistake cause I wanted to see a Queensyrche musicvideo, and I got Digital D which shows that the fact he uses Power / Prog is on of the factors that draged me into the scene and it's one think that I like about his videos. Another thing is the perfect flow he sometimes leaves out a beat just to show a complete motion part in a scene to create flow and not to interrupt it with a flash for the drum and such, he is the king of the flow.

- SSJVegita0609

I'm currently watching his ColonyProject on my 2nd screen thus I can say his videos are very reviewable cause they never get boring since they are really pumping adrenalin. The stong sides of him I think are the perfects mixture between action and editing synchage and the nice sourcecombos (In Flames ;P).

- Requiett

His videos convince by visual effects and the use of awsome sourcecombos. Most of his works have a soundtrack I'd normally never listen to like Infected Mushroom or BT, but because of his videos I now really like the songs since he always manages to create a great video with it like a perfect fusion between sound and images. Sometimes I don't even like the effects but they are also the mainreason for me watching his videos since the often inspired me to think of some original effects my self (which I never use)

- Sierra Lorna

Heartwarming and well edited. Thats the short version of things I guess. Her AMV are really beautiful and always touched me with their dramatic and romantic mood.

- Dethmajor

Bloody action, sometimes thats the kind of video I need and the I just watch something by dethmajor productions. His videos are fast, full of gory action and never get boring. Too bad he has has more or less retired since he was also a factor I started amvs myself.

- Bote

the King of editing sync and variety since he never made two videos the same way he normally re-invents himself with a new video without copying himself over and over again. And he always uses standart effects in a way the seem to be new and just fitting.

I guess thats about it. /Waits for post to be deleted again without knowing why.

My favourite editors...meh, my favourite video is the wasteland by Otohiko so i guess that would haveto make him my favourite editor.

I quite like some of Jacob's stuff, who couldn't like all the greats from Koop to trythil and beyond?

There's a lot of good stuff out there, but no decent Pink Floyd videos :'¬ [
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

Am I really the first to say MeriC? Sheesh people. Seriously, her videos are very, very good, and they seem to have a certain charm about them that keeps me watching. Consistency, I suppose.

I have a lot of other random favorites from AMV creators, favorites where I've downloaded nearly all their stuff and liked one video out of all of them, so, I guess they wouldn't be considered my favorite creators. So yeah.
