The majority of the movie was composed of action sequences. Seriously. It felt like 60 minutes of action, and 30 minutes of story.

Bolded for emphasis. As Pie Row said, it can be difficult to use lots of the footage available.

Your right. It can be difficult to use all the action footage in that movie. But it's not because there's only a few good action scenes and clips available. In fact, it's actually on the contrary. (You might feel the same after/if you watch the movie for yourself) There's an abundance of great action scenes to use. The problem comes in with using just the right clips of these scenes to fit the song your using. (Certain camera angles/zoom in effects, etc, just fit certain parts of various songs better than others.) It does'nt mean that all the other action scenes suck though. lol

I'll give you a short example from my own experience. The last fight in that movie was 5 or so minutes of absolute bliss. I've never witnessed a better looking fight in my life. But in my amv, I did'nt even use a full minute of footage from that fight. (I would've liked to though) o_0

Anyways; I can't speak for everyone else, but I personally loved every second of action in that movie. The person that must've told you there are only a few good action scenes out of the entire movie must have some pretty high standards. (Or I have some pretty low standards.)

*shrugs shoulders.*

I'm going to admit that making a decent AC amv is pretty easy. There's a lot of good material to use. The fact that there are so many AC amv's being made lately should be a testament to that. lol (To be more specific, it should be a testament to how much good material there is to use.) Cause there definately are'nt many decent AC amv's being made as of yet.

Don't get me wrong Flint the Dwarf, I don't want this post to come off as though I'm angrily arguing w/ you. Just expressing my point of view. I actually have nothing else to say on the issue. In the end, it comes down to personal opinion as I'm sure we all know.

actually the diffuculty of Advent children will come from the lack of any real connection between any of the action. Its bam bam boom. There's nothing behind whats going on other then to look cool which when it wears off will leave AC as what it is a hollow movie.

As far as the action being the best ever, no. That's the final fantasy fanboys acting up cause they finally got to see a high rendered version of Cloud fighting Sephiroth. As time goes by something else will do what AC did but alot better and people will make vids of that.

At the very least mabye this will slow down the Naruto videos for a bit. Still i bite my tumb at thee square.

i agree with you so much

i MUST make ANTI FF7 amv...*sigh* i can see it now...starting from october, any amv contest, i can BET YOU, there will probably over 50 FF7 submissions and the ones that pass, will be at LEAST 2-3 PER contest.

and i PRAY there wont be very many bleach or naruto ones as well..

i just wish, one day, i could go to an amv contest and not see even ONE naruto, bleach, or ff7 (any square enix) amv.. that would be my dream...my dream ><....oh its NEVER going to happen...

i should post up a Annoucement, to whoever can prevent a contest from having any bleach, naruto, square enix, over popular anime from appearing, send me a PM with your paypal info and i'll transfer you 1,000 dollars... -_-

Actually, I was real impressed with that one. I'm just sad it could'nt have been longer. Not only was it very well synchronized w/ the music, but the quality was definately the best I've seen so far. I'd assume the guy who made that did'nt use Windows Movie maker, right? lol

Its cool that my video got recommended here. 8-) I used premiere 6.5 and not movie maker :P . Also, the video is from the r2 dvd

btw,dcdeveloperx

how did you go about extracting a perfect copy of the dvd from the img file it must've came in.
Because mine end up in mpeg 2 format and I can't import that into windows movie maker. I'd like to convert the movie into avi, or mpeg format without loosing any quality. And I'd also like to convert the movie without having encode it with anything. (ie. DivX/Xvid) I reffered to the faqs, but still no luck. If you could just possibly tell me what programs you used and the order in which you used them, I'd be most appreciative.
