And the recommended Advent Children amv's of the week are...

Postby sayde » Tue Sep 20, 2005 1:32 am

Since they don't have a recommendation topic for this anime as of yet, I'd really like to get some opinions or some recommendations towards any AC music vids you thought were good that have premiered within the last 7 days or so. I'd like to compare some of the better quality ones with the one I made. (I'll be honest about that straight up)

Plus, it would also help to weed out the rushed amvs from the good ones and cut down on the amount of good AC amvs being lost among the others that might actually deserve to be recognized. So please, recommend some recent AC amvs you thought were good. Today, I saw two that were worth a mention. This is only a start. I'm only mentioning AC amvs I saw that actually were well snychronized w/ the music. They still have there flaws, but were the best of what I witnessed today, or yesterday. And I personally felt they deserve a worthy mention. Especially the link listed below.

Sorry about that. I meant to say "especially the second link listed below".

I haven't seen many yet, but this one struck me as well thought out.

I'll be watching more (while this euphoric FF7 nostalgia high is still in effect) ;) so I'll stay on the lookout.

...I hope that link works.

Actually, I was real impressed with that one. I'm just sad it could'nt have been longer. Not only was it very well synchronized w/ the music, but the quality was definately the best I've seen so far. I'd assume the guy who made that did'nt use Windows Movie maker, right? lol

*Proceeds to check out Kristyrat's suggested amv.*

Thanks a lot people.

I'm gonna go ahead and rate these 2 about the same.

Of course, I'm refferng to dcdeveloperx&NME2's amv's.

In all honestly, I really can't decide which one was better. Just one question. What the hell is with kick ass action amv's that are only 2 minutes long? lol

From what I've heard, there's not that much good action footage. Good action videos should be short.

The majority of the movie was composed of action sequences. Seriously. It felt like 60 minutes of action, and 30 minutes of story. And I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but I thought each second of action shown was great and very amv worthy.

 oh lord! a 60 minute action amv!! Heck I bet Beowulf or Otohiko could easily stretch that out to 1 hour without anybody noticeing a difference!!

What sayde says is true, a large portion of the movie is action. The thing is that the action does a lot of "moving" (quick cuts, camera zooms, etc). The fights actually play out as if they're edited like music videos, which is kinda funny. Because of that though, it makes it possibly difficult to use if you're relying more on your own editing techniques rather than the movies own cuts and edits.

It worked in my favor albeit some of my own meticulous placements. It's quite obvious that the song I selected (with its constant beats) would definitely naturally sync with certain attacks.

I've been watching the amvs with provided links in this thread. I'm impressed thus far. Although I think we've all pretty much milked the cow with this cgi/anime lol. Then again, I have no idea how many amvs are made per anime. Personally, I think I'll move on and start watching other amvs for now :)
