A Revolutionary Idea

Postby Ruff Ryder » Wed Sep 07, 2005 9:10 pm

I don't kno if any1 had already inquired about this b4 since i'm new here but here goes. Me and My friends are all into AMV and we always try to compete against each other to see who will come out with the best anime music video. We had a contest due the end of last week and i came up with a new idea of incorprorating both a music video clip of a song and an sveral anime clips to make a revolutionary AMV. I took several sections from FF8 and matched it to Linkin park's In the End video clip makin a new type of amv (in my opinion). They all didnt kno if that was under the rules of amv and wenever we asked we got blank faces for a reply. I claimed that the anime is still present in the video but all i did is incorporated it with a music clip to make it look reallistic and better since we all got bored of seein an amv and see how professionaly its matched to the music. I took it a step furter and not only made the anime match the music but match the actual video clip itself of the song. However i would be open to any suggestions statin otherwise

Use the forum's search function; this same topic has been discussed before. It's not nearly as revolutionary as the OPs of these threads always seem to think: it has been done before, multiple times.

Yes, this is quite fine for animemusicvideos.org purposes. It may not be for a specific contest, but as long as the majority of your footage is anime (as per this site's definition - Japanese animation only please) - you're fine and you may upload it to the site.

As far as it being revolutionary...

So...basically you made a GMV in an Iron Chef type contest. Welcome to 2001.

I think he's saying that he put live action clips of Linkin Park in with the video. I'm not entirely sure on that, though :|

Admittedly, that's been done too. He should try checking out Tommy's Eva video from two years ago (I think it was two years ago at least).

Hmmm. Final Fantasy with Linkin' Park. Real footage or not, that'll never be "new" to anyone around here.

In The End is just about the single most over used song in the AMV world. Go ahead and upload your video, but don't expect any praise, recognition, high scores, or many downloads.

AMVs to In The End by Linkin Park are neither new nor revolutionary, regardless of how you edit the video. Sorry, but thems the breaks.

I concur.

prejudice ftw?

i think what the OP believes is original about his video is that he intentionally edited it to match the original linkin park music video. although, from my understanding right now, someone is reading this title and elvis vs. anime achieve similar effects.

If you mean put original Music Video footage mixed with anime or Japanese Game FMV video, it is already been done multiple times, for example.. ->
