I sent it to FilipinoHOOD with yousendit, so the video should still be up on their server. I e-mailed you the link to download it.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

Actually, I'm pretty sure many of his videos were uploaded to the 'Org. From my Star Ratings page:

Tom the Fish Mokushi des ne (Boku genki des yo) Aug 11, 2003 4
Tom the Fish There's No Need to Feel Down Apr 11, 2004 5

Obviously I picked these up from local. I'm guessing Tom requested his videos be deleted and they were. They probably *shouldn't* have been, but they were...

Well, I looked into the matter and Tom the Fish at one time had all of his videos stored on the local server. At some point, he then decided he wanted nothing further to do with them and tried to erase his past. He did this by requesting video deletions for all of his for the purpose of uploading better versions. As we had no reason to believe he wouldn't do that, we removed the current versions to make room for new versions, but he never uploaded new versions. He then proceeded to blank out all of his video descriptions. As this was deemed not cool because of this site's primary purpose as a catalog, we restored the video descriptions, however the video links are still gone.

I miss his work. I'm glad I have some of it burned to CD. :? Could've sworn it came up in a thread that he hated reviews and/or ratings and pulled everything out because of that. Regardless, it's a shame.

Given the not-coolness (and the fact that his vids are requested once a month), can we possibly re-upload them via proxy?

We do have backups of the videos but are debating whether or not to put them back up. We're still trying to decide whether or not the creator relinquishes their right to control the distribution of their videos when they upload to the local servers. In this case, it seems pretty clear that Tom the Fish doesn't want people downloading them anymore.

If you guys want to discuss this in general, maybe that should continue in this thread though.

I have a copy actually from a contest I ran way back in fall 0f 2003 but not entirely sure where it it hiding.

yeah, Tom's a little bitch about his videos. I know of a few I loved by him but since my hd crashed and my backup cds crapped out on me I can't get em...

I can see you'd have to careful about this. If he decides to be more of an ass, he can always alert the RIAA or another group to our site out of retribution. And since his vids aren't hosted here anymore, he's less likely to catch the legal flack that will undoubtly result when the admins are asked to provide info on all members...

Leave his videos alone. Let people get videos like everyone else has been doing it, by asking if anyone has them and then they send it to them over AIM or w/e.

Sorry about the double post, but..

If people request vids often, just have a sticky where people swap videos that are no longer available on the org. I don't think the thread will be getting much attention, but eh..

But that's the point of the Proxy account - to upload videos that are no longer available. If Kevin Caldwell's vids can be uploaded, I don't see why Tom's can't...

I think there actually was a thread like that once; don't know where it went to.

I believe the proxy account was meant for videos whose editors never joined the Org, but Tom the Fish has. Plus, it's been a good long while since regular members were able to use it -- apparently the administration no longer saw the need.

(I don't even know if local uploads were even available yet when members could still use the proxy account...)
