AMV search: YMCA AMV by Tom the Fish

Postby stixi » Tue Aug 23, 2005 3:56 am

Hey, I wasn't sure which section I should have gone to if I wanted to find an AMV. Sorry if this is the wrong place.

Anyhoo
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get ahold of Tom the Fish's There's No Need To Feel Down AMV.

Saw it at an AMV contest, and it's funny stuff. I'd like to have a copy~ Thanks in advance!

I have a copy of it, DLed after seeing it at AB04 myself. I don't remember if I got it off the 'org or off of dokool's network share when we went to the same college. It's obviously not on the org now...there wasn't even much of a description last I saw the video description page.

Yeah I think he never uploaded to the org and decided he didn't like his videos so he was going to keep them a secret. This is part of why the site doesn't let you delete the videos you upload to the site.

I have a copy actually from a contest I ran way back in fall 0f 2003 but not entirely sure where it it hiding.

Actually, I'm pretty sure many of his videos were uploaded to the 'Org. From my Star Ratings page:

Obviously I picked these up from local. I'm guessing Tom requested his videos be deleted and they were. They probably *shouldn't* have been, but they were...

his videos are the best, I am still wondering why he didn't like em. He gives inspiration to the uninspired.

I have it since it was entered in the Yaoicon contest but it's practically a gig in size and technicaly I shouldn't be distributing it.

If you have 45MBs of free space in your e-mail, I can send you the file in segments along with an exe to put it together. That would be easier (atleast for me) to send the file this way since my p2p upload speed is often painfully slow. It should also make downloading faster on your side. Anyway, if you want it, just give me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Not to disparage your offer but isn't this type of thing exactly what yousendit is for?

Could be. I am unfamilar with yousendit. Maybe I should check that out. Anyway, the file was sent. If there are any problems let me know and I might try a different approach.

Oh yay, affirmative responses.

I've got a lot of space in my gmail account. Quiet Cannon, could you send it to me too? phishstix111@gmail.com.

Just took a look at yousendit.com, and it looks rather nifty. There's a quick "How does it work" page, for anyone who also doesn't know what it is.

I don't mind the 45mb segements, but if you find the partitioning too tedious, you may want to try yousendit.com, cause it sends up to 1GB files.
