I think I've come up with a pet peeve now - well, one that hasn't already been mentioned anyway.

People who use the words "clip" or "movie" in place of "music video."

Folks, if it were a clip, it would be awfully damn short. If it were a movie, the filesize would be through the roof. Either way, it's not allowed to be uploaded, so referring to an AMV or VGMV by either of those two terms reeks of idiocy.

Think about it.

Negating that, I'm pretty lenient about the other annoyances, mostly because I've committed those sins myself before. Still, I like to point people in the right direction if they do make a 'mistake'. "Do as I say, not as I do," you know?

well "clip" is what "video" is widely referred as in French, so you may get mixed responses on that. :o

I'm an ill-traveled, white mutt of an American, so I suppose that explains why I wouldn't know that. Thanks for letting me know, though. I hope no one flames me on that now. ~_~

A lot of the time, I don't even think about downloading a video with a boring title. The way I see it, if someone doesn't care enough to come up with an interesting title, they probably don't put much effort into their videos. Granted, there are some great videos with crappy titles, but there aren't enough of them to change my opinion.

Titles are hard...

Heh, I've gotten into the habit of responding to such shots with "Aaaaaand... CUT!" and hoping I timed it right. :D

I never run into the problem of a clip going too long because it's impossible to make a clip shorter than a single frame! :?

If only I could...
I have sinned. I made a video I wanted to make that was music + anime + sync + action + effects/transitions. Oh lordy.

My only real peeves are the video quality and annoyances like subtitles or the DivX logo - I think plenty of people are like this :). I really hate it when I download 80MB MPEG1 files that look like crap, when, if they'd used a better codec they could have gotten great quality in less than half the size.

On that note, I'm upset by music videos that are great except for the quality.

Oh, and when I search for videos, find one that sounds great ... and it's not available for download. :)

Oh, for me this is more in relation to conventions. There are just some vids that don't seem to make it here but which I would really want to have a copy of. Actually, it's equally as frustrating when you don't find the video even though someone told you it already existed here :P

People who use Evangelion, Akira, and other overused anime... and then get angry to my opinion comment "next time use something less popular..."

"oh wait, this is just the introduction to the opposites."

My biggest: reading a video that sounds right up my alley and then finding out that it's not available to download. (Someone put this same beef above.)

There's a Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar video that sounds great, but it's AWOL.
