Downloaded tons of DBZ videos off of Hotline years ago, then started downloading videos to other anime. I wondered what it took to create them and played around with editing programs. I made nearly a dozen videos (few of which actually remain) then kept getting better at it. At first I was crapping them out left and right, but nowadays prefer quality over quantity.

Or did I say that already?

Well... I can't remember if my first AMV that I watched was one of Jessmaster's Eva videos or a FFX video done to "Suteki da ne"... one thing is for sure, I was really hooked in by both those videos... it was months (or even a year or more later) that I realised I can and should make these things too :D

origanally, my very first trial and editing was a max payne video that had soo many random clips. That was fun, and i had a good song too, however it had some spiderman, a counterstike movie and some how high(get em!) in it. Then about 3 years go by to the end of last year. I started watching naruto, and decided to mess around with it on wmm(nvr shown, possibly might be remade). It was ok. Then this year hits, I finally find this great site called animemusicvideos.org(omfg what a great website) didnt really mess around with amv's till about 2 months before anime expo.
Then I dropped my first vid(its kinda my second, but to me this is my first accual vid)Match the Nin with the Voice, and ever since then i cant even listen to music w/o trying to find a video consept for it. Surprizingly enough my first vid landed into the anime expo finals(and i didnt expect that one, considering how good all the other vids were compared to mine).
Now I'm stuck b/c I have tons of ideas that i wanna express and create, and i wanna break the general mold of amvs.[/url]
Oh god, that black dude with the afro is always making those damn trash ass music hip hop amvs...he needs to do something with techno or rock....
.......as if I would do something like that.

Copied straight from one of my video notes:

the patience to sit through twenty minute episodes. One day, while cruising the fansubbers' tunnels, I ran into an episode of Naruto that came bundled with a Rock Lee tribute. Now, I had only had seen maybe two or three AMVs in the past, and they were all very good, so I was rather psyched to see this. When I finally watched the AMV, I had two consecutive thoughts. The first was:

"Wow, that sucked."

The second was:

"You know, I could do SO much better."

A few days later, I had pumped out the tradgedy now known as "That's Some Bad Feedback."

Editing in VirtualDub was so hardcore. I should try it again sometime.

I was inspired by NeoGohan, his vids were like total kewlness when I saw them. So normally, I dlded every program he used and started to explore them. Yeah...

I was the Central California rep for Xbox. Footage from the Halo 2 presentation at E3 2004 was leaked a day before E3. I got to see it early, and then again at E3. The boys from Bungie were PISSED that GameSpot had the video on their site. Anyway, I went home and made a video to "Another One Bites The Dust" just off the E3 video plus the video that was released in September of 2003.

After that, I felt pretty comfortable with WMM, so I made a second video with Kare Kano and "When The Rain Comes" by Third Day. The entire video comes from a single, three minute segment of Episode 18. I have since made three more videos and remade the Kare Kano video.

There ya go.

I started making AMVs in late 2001 in my Sophomore year in High School. Mr. Benedict showed me how to make videos using two VCRs. I made SEVERAL videos (mostly Robotech videos) in his studio, but during the summer of 2002, I noticed that I could make AMVs in the comfort of my own home! I put some Robotech footage together, THEN I hooked the video jack from the individual VCR into the Video Input on the TV, and the audio jack from the DVD player into the Audio Input, I rolled the tape, hit record, and started the music where I wanted it to start. Most of my future AMVs were made like this, but then came June of 2005, when somebody taught me how to use Adobe Premiere, and now making AMVs has never been easier.
