None is better really, it's all dependent on one's opinion.
I for one (and this is known throughout the org by now) love the faster multianime-amvs.
That doesn't mean I "hate" the "thought provoking" amvs. I happen to have them ranked very highly among the 200+ amvs I've reviewed. Zarxrax's "Tod" amv really boots me in the skull as the best Evangelion AMV I've seen to date. The fact that he won a "special" award from Brad Demoss (so I'm told) kind of knocks me down. ^_^ But then again, it's not the award right? It's the content of the video and the audience in question that matters.
In terms of preference for me though, if you throw two amvs at me, one that's serious and thought provoking and the other being fast and wild dance that just won't let me fall asleep, then yes, I'll watch the latter video first. That doesn't mean I'll score it higher however. ^_^
