What AMVs do we need more of?

Postby x_rex30 » Mon Jul 25, 2005 1:45 am

I'd like to see more people makin' hentai videos. There hard to come by, and usually the editing seems a bit lazy, and have bad visual quality. So what type of videos do you want to see that you haven't seen yet and what videos would you like to see more of that seem rare and hard to find? Don't just say comedy, action, effect, or old school cause that isn't specific enough and they are not really rare.

We need more AMVs where a character jumps out of your screen and punches you in the balls so hard, you cry tears of joy.

Id agree more HMV's, more so funny hmv's than just banging.
Also there isnt nearly enough good metal videos (metal = anything that doesnt start with "rock" or "nu") that dont just consist of gorey anime to a scream or growl. Warheart (for example) has some great metal amv's that arent just gore.

More Action-Comedy videos. Were the action is the main thing of the video, and the comedy is secondary.

What we need, what we really REALLY need, are more AMVs where the creator spent more than 5 minutes planning the video before slapping clips around.

More worth watching Sailor Moon videos...that have substance and not just a bunch of attacks/transformations thrown together or lovey dovey Usagi/Mamoru videos...Arigatomina, Aluminum Studios, and Doki Doki are the only one's to fit this bill so far that I have seen.

goddamnit, I swear I'll get the recs list back online soon. In the meantime, they're definitely out there if you go digging for them.

ontopic:
Videos that don't require the viewer to have seen the anime used. AMV is by far too anime-centric, and in a lot of cases accessibility suffers. It's also lazy to just assume that the audience is going to be taking certain ideas into the video, so you don't have to demonstrate them explicitly. I don't always do zero-cost-of-access myself, but the degree to which a video is not ZCOA is usually the degree to which it fails.

Dio AMV's 8-)

And I would've said Captain Beefheart AMV's, but that's off-topic because you can't make MORE AMV's using an artist that's never been used for AMV's before

Lewis Carrol wrote:"Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.

"I've had nothing yet," Alice replied in an offended tone, "so I can't take more."

"You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter: "it's very easy to take more than nothing."

I thought the idea that I'm an alter-ego of Mad Hatter was disproven about 2 years ago :o

Anyway, I could probably list a whole bunch of artists for whom I'd like to see more AMV's, but it just boils down to my favorite musicians, whether reasonable for the average AMVer or not. There's very few exceptions to the rule that my favorite music either has very few AMVs to it or none at all.

This fact might be a good thing for the three and a half people who actually enjoy my AMV's. If there were even half-enough AMV's to artists I liked - heck - even one or two good King Crimson AMV's - I would probably not be here in the first place, or would quit AMVing shortly thereafter, satisfied with my task having been accomplished - even if not by me.
