Qu3stions, ops

No, not that kind of opinions :P
I have some questions, maybe not that smarts but I want to see a little more clearly about some things =) I don't know if I should have submitted this in a help section but I'll see if it'll be moved ;) Now, I would have some questions for an personal opinion from all of you :)

- Since I don't want to change my Personal Computer even if I'm in a deep hate with it, I would want to wait a new level of the processors for finally change my system, now, as my knowledge about this say to me, in about one year, one year and half there should be the new OS by Microsoft but, my questions is, in your opinion, how much time we'll need to be able to see commercially (talking about Processor Velocity only) disponible a 4Ghz processor?

- Since I really don't know, and I prefer a forum than the official site now, what are the main differences between Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0 and the 1.5 Version?

- Since I formatted completely my HDD, I would have a question that is quite important for me, about the AmvApp. When you install it, do you mark everything or you avoid something, what you precisely do not install? I ask that since FFDShow and the Xvid codec gave me always problems if used not correctly (of course), but I would know your opinions about that, how you act.

Thanks in advance and sorry for your time ;) =)

Intel's having big problems hitting 4GHz, last time I read. I don't think there's gonna be a P5 for another year or two, and since hardware prices are so cheap there's really no point in waiting except to get even lower prices...

1.5 has native 24p support (this has to do with cameras and more or less nothing to do with AMVing) as well as Photoshop-style color correction, plus a few other things. What's wrong with going to the Adobe website and looking at the spec sheet?

I'll uncheck anything I already have a newer version already installed of, that's about it.

Microsoft is an evil company....do not buy longhorn. If you are going to buy a new PC....you should like....get OSX with the new G5s coming out made by Intel. They are looking pretty promising. XD

Thanks really a lot for your answers :D

Uhm, I was warned about this new about Intel. So, I have my system since two years, waiting another two could be problematic, is not that my computer is obsolete (in another two years it could be), but it is really in the middle of an auto-destructive descending death. So I was thinking to change it within one year.. Thanks for the informations.

About Longhorn, I was waiting exactly that for signal to change computer.. But I know how much microsoft is.. Microsoft. Is that I can't with a Mac, I am really too much Windows "knower" to introduce myself in another OS.. At least, I think so. o.O

About Premiere, there is nothing wrong in going to the official page I know =) But the web site is TOO MUCH overwhelmed with quality images and "high weight" pages and.. My remote dial-up 56k modem.. Collapse. T-T

Well, its good to learn a new OS sometime....just go ahead and start familiarizing yourself now. Overtime you will get used to it.

Unless you want to learn linux, which is really an advanced OS.

OSX is really easy to use, you would be surprised. The only problem is that they are expensive >_<

Cool, surely when I'll have the possibilty I'll try, but I'm quite sure I'll not leave Windows.

I know they are expensive @_@ And I know that the G4 can contain 8GB of RAM, incredible xD

From what I've read about Longhorn so far I'm thinking I'll be using XP for quite sometime and eventually switch to another platform.

Ditto that. Microsoft anouncing that longhorn will come with BSOD's and fancy new RSOD's (red screens of death) is just scary. I dont want to relive the days of win me.

meh, I have average hopes fro longhorn. I think it's crap that they won't be supporting 32-bit processors, so anyone that doesn't have an Ahlon 64 or Xeon processor are not going to be included, but I hope that it will still be compatible with today's software and such. I only have an Athlon XP right now, but I'll definatly be upgrading my computer in the next two years, so 64-bit is the way to go.

as for Mac, don't go near 'em! Mac r teh evil :P (ok, I admit, they do bang up with video editing, but can you play WoW or half-life 2 on a mac? :P)

I never did get the whole "lets put it all in one tiny bity box so no one can upgrade and must buy all new computers" part of the macs. I'm sure more people would like them if you could actually upgrade a mac, rather then go out and buy a new one. (yes I know, you can proly do all the simple upgrades like bigger hard drive/ more memory, but what if I want to upgrade the motherboard, proccessor, video card, add more firewire slots, get a bigger moniter?)

But isn't that true with Dell's or anything else premade? Or at least as far as the warranty goes. Ive seen quite afew Dells were they "try" to stop you from tampering with it.

No matter how you look at it the self made is the best. Its always cheaper and more powerfull. Too bad you can't build your own mac. :(

I know plenty of Mac users and even they reluctently admit that the whole Mac fad was (and still is) based (at least in part) on price-eliteism. That is, they cost more, so they must be better. For a long while many high-end macs outpreformed premade systems made by any PC manufacturer, but in the last few years the majority of the mac crowd is comprised of anti-microsoft people who don't want to go the linux route, those who still believe that paying twice as much for essentially the same spec-ed hardware is worthwile, and those who buy macs because others in their family have always bought macs (the majority of people i know). I know there is still a bit of an edge in mac hardware/software if you're willing to pay a large sum of money for it (or have a grant), but macs are slowly becoming less appealing to the average consumer.
