I seriously believe that the Windows Movie Maker in XP Service Pack 1 was the best one, simply because it offered the most customisability in the final renders...

When I saw my friend's version after he upgraded to Service Pack 2, I just thought to myself, it's not worth it.

Currently, as far as I recall seeing, XP is now entering or has entered Service Pack 3, which could mean yet another "improvement" to WMM. Usually, upgrading to whole Service Packs is a good idea, and will ensure you have the most up to date version.

See, I wasn't aware of that.

I never said that... :?:

I actually don't know if it's possible; my copy of Windows XP is legal, so.

Mines Too is Legal but as I'm nearly sure there is no problem in update pirate versions. At least being pirate, if work, is because the software is completely copied. Not always but you can try

Seriously, If you have no problem piriting your OS, getting a decent editing program through the interweb shouldn't be beyond your moral standards. Why settle with WMM?

Here's the thing. Alot of people who are against piracy arent against pirating microsoft products, due to the fact that no matter how much ms software gets pirated, they'l still be rich as hell.

wmm dosn't work for me to well...

Postby Darcy_Smack » Mon Jul 04, 2005 7:48 pm

Not to get to far of topic, but my wmm dosn't work well for me at all. I have made a few videos in the past with it but resently it started shutting down before I could add a new clip. Any tips on fixing this? Or any other program I could use to make amvs? I really want to make one to the naruto and sasuke fight.

Okay, you mentioned Naruto, which isn't out on R1 DVD, so I can now safely make the assumption that you're working with either raws or fansubs. In which case, check my <s>flow</s> sig.

... except replace "Adobe Premiere" with "Microsoft Windows Movie Maker".

As for other programs, have you tried the Software List sticky? That's what it's stickied for.

You should not use them since they make the program crash. There is entirely no moral fiber involved, it's just a codec.

Problem solved

Postby Darcy_Smack » Wed Jul 06, 2005 1:08 am

To anyone who had the same problem as me; I've simply updated windows movie maker from 2.0 to 2.1 . In 2.1 I could check that divx was compatable with windows movie maker, now I can FINALY start working on Naruto vs Sasuke

Damn pirate barstards. Seriosly, if you see a great program (such as vegas), buy the damn thing. And dont give me some crap saying you got the trial because you cant get the vegas5 trial anymore.

Fansubs are the worst source you could possibly edit. Besides the obvios (subtitles), you have pop frames, reduced video quality when you export, plus its just very sow to edit something with very little keyframes in vegas which previews everything real time and has constantly updating image frames of the source on the timeline.
