Interesting position on the laziness aspect.

I don't suppose you've ever considered the challenges in editing live-action material, or that you'll consider where this question can lead with regards to usage of live-action music video footage in an AMV...

Aaaactually I have made a live action music video (With footage from The Exorcist), FYI. So I know the differences between working with anime and live footage (mainly stills look more stupid with live footage and mouths aren't limited to a range of three positions like in most anime dialogue). As for the music videos, from what I've seen it's really no biggie. If nothing else, to make sure you're lining the movie clip up right to where it occured in the original music video, just turn the sound to half and half and make sure it sounds clean. =/

What I am trying to do now is adding the anime into the live action shots to make more relavent to the anime. Are any of those videos like that?

Gad nabbit...

"Right Now" was the music, right now if you are reading this or something like that. I don't have it on the HD so I don't remember the name.

It only had one or two Live action scenes in it, but they were appropriate.

That and Aluminum studios does a live action Front bumper to their vid's. Other than that, I havn't seen any other Live action seqences on the .org.
Annoying, obnoxious and opinionated.

Some videos combine anime with footage from the video, done to great effect in the humorous Hard Knock Anime.

"Right Now Someone is Reading This Title" is the name and although it used some live action, it would be better classified as a scene for scene parody of the original video. Another example of this is "Elvis Vs. Anime."

Yes, "Hard Knock Anime" is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that I've seen, but I think it's very funny, and well done. They creator used the live action sequences to his/her advantage very well.

Though I don't know what these "hybrid" videos are called, AD's Do It Right (Shake it) is one to take a look at.

Well, I have seen a few AMVs that has anime footage spliced with the actual music video, but most of them havent been that good. I think the reason why people dont usually splice Actual Music Videos into their AMVs is because most Music Videos just suck out loud.

Here's a AMV with Anime footage spliced with the actual songs music video, but i wouldnt really call it good:
