AMV/MV hybrids?

Postby DeinReich » Wed Jun 29, 2005 2:39 pm

I have many times (before posting on the site) made videos using both anime and actual music video footage. Does anyone else do this, and if so what is it called (I always called them MTVAMVs)?

And to a much lesser extent, Nightowl's/Gambitt's Mad World. It's an awesome video. It just has some footage of Gary Jules singing.

I think s/he was referring to the name of the genre, not the names of his/her individual videos.

...lazy editing? Wow, I don't know whether to be offended and angry or laugh at your inability to see beyond the average bullshit... you know, it can be done artistically, beautifully and intelligently, if you have the imagination to pull it the fuck off.

Dude(s) don't get your panties in a snarl, I am allowed my view on the whole concept. I HAVE seen some of those and I tend to find it lazy because whole sections of your AMV are already done for you. That and most "real" music videos suck ass.

Interesting position on the laziness aspect.

I don't suppose you've ever considered the challenges in editing live-action material, or that you'll consider where this question can lead with regards to usage of live-action music video footage in an AMV...
