Well, I direct and edit professionally, so I suppose I'd be one of those people who creates their own stuff... Aside from the numerous short films, corporate commercials, and music videos I've worked on, I do AMVs. Why? Because I want to show off? Nah, if I wanted to do that, I'd truly be a pretentious asshole, rather than an annoying asshole. I make anime music videos because I like to hone my skill as an editor. When I'm not working, I'll do an AMV. It's actually how most professional editors are trained - they're given video or film work previously created (mostly found footage) and are told to edit a coherant scenario utilizing said footage. It's a fun excercise, and fairly similar to the AMV world (only in the case of training, you're learning from a proven professional).
Just thought I'd throw that out there. I actually have no idea what the current conversation is about, that paragraph just caught my interest.
Oh, and this:

Hee : ) I like bunnies. A lot. Though you have to keep in mind, Ian, that no one cares that I exist on the forum other than a few of you good people out there in this fun world we call a hobby - I can understand if Kamoc has never seen my little indulgence. But I like bunnies. Yes I do.
Oh, last little general comment - I most definitely believe AMVs can be an art form. They can also be entertainment. Both sides can be good. Let's see... what other industries out there fit that mold?
