DDR Take 2: Mercy Killing

This forum is for the general discussion of Anime Music Videos.

I can say that I've never seen the original DDR project as a whole so I can't give a good opinion on it. This second project, I would've been interested in had it been more publicized. I didn't even know people were working on this project until it was already dead or dying. It could also just be that I'm not too focused yet into AMVs.

I'm not going to get into your positions on why you're working up so much heat over each other's vids since you will most likely dismiss me as another spammer. But I do want to see some formality and constructive crictism especially among people who seem to know so much about videos.

Seriously, I really don't know why you would include people who don't even have a computer in a project (as mentioned in the 1st ddr project). Another thing it's not that hard to make a AMV, so don't think your all special. However there is few people who will create something that is just outstanding and needs to be given recognition (once in a full moon). Not every AMV is a piece of art, regardless of who even created it.

I guess that a matter of opinion. I like videos by themselves, not just becasue a particular creator made it. I love and hate some of Kusoyaro's videos. This too applies to Tommy's. My only though about this whole thing is that I really don't have anything against Tommy's project, it his attitide that I disagree with and donit have any respect for, if he would be a bit more "diplomatic" and not so abrasive (as mentioned already) about things then maybe there would of been a lot more bigger interest rather than bitterness...

KoJiRoHx, take your head our of your ass cause you completely misunderstood what Kusoyaro was saying. He wasn't even REFERRING to tommyrude when he said "editors like you". Try to understand what someone is even saying before you make such outlandish comments.

There are far too many posts here nowadays of people spouting off when they base their entire outburst on a misunderstanding or else read in extra things which were never said. Are people not learning reading comprehension in schools these days or what?

So you've heard about his rep, have you? I have no idea what exactly his "rep" is, but let me tell you about the person. This may be a newsflash to everyone, but the person that is most mystified by his "rep" is Kusoyaro himself. He's not part of some weird AMV ruling class, he's not God's Gift to AMVs, he's just a guy, and that's how he thinks of himself. I've never heard him say that he's better than anyone, or bragged about how many awards he's won or how many videos he's done. He's made a lot of videos and many people like them. Maybe not all of them, and I don't know of any one video that is universally loved, but he's never complained about that. He just keeps on quietly making videos.

And people keep requesting them. You can request that he send you CD-Rs of his work (his website tells you how) and he usually gets 30-40 requests a week. Is he raking in the dough this way? No, he doesn't even break even, but he figures if you really don't want to try getting them online for free, here's another avenue. What else does this mean? Not only does he have to spend the time to burn 3 700-MB CD-Rs per request, he also has to go to the post office and mail them out every week, which he does about 2-3 times a week, forcing him to take a long lunch everytime he goes to the post office and making him work later on those days to make up the time. Have you ever heard a peep out of him about this?

So why is he so popular? Who knows? My guess is that because he tries to answer all of his e-mails, letters, and IMs and he has a pleasant disposition in person, so that if you ever do meet him, he's not some arrogant dick whose head is swollen to the size of a watermelon, but rather a normal down-to-earth guy that likes making music videos. I think because of his attitudes and personality that he has made a lot of friends among other AMV makers and so is well-known that way. And because he is well-known among this AMV circle, maybe people listen to him and put more stock into his words than he intends when he states this or that opinion. If this is the case, blame yourself for falling for the "hype". Notice that Kusoyaro never tries to force his ideas on anyone, he just states his opinion and leaves it at that. Everyone has opinions and not everyone agrees with them. One thing I can guarantee you'll never see is an egomaniacal Kusoyaro running around posting about how he's a better editor than everyone or how his videos are so good and so popular and better than other ones. And if you think that he has a huge ego or he's being irrational, maybe you should think twice about that and re-read a post to see if you understood it correctly. Hell, that's just a good idea anywhere.

o_O Talk about misinterpreting a post. I never made mention of Tommy OR "rep." I was in no way referring to the "skill" or "rank" of an editor. I was referring to the fact that Omnistrata had been stranded. By "editors like you" I meant "editors who had started work on a track and then been stranded when the project went kaput." Maybe I should have said "editors in your situation" or something to make it more clear. Jesus. I love how I've become the focal point of all evil and oppression because a few people are misunderstanding a few words and then spouting off.

At least paizuri loves me...

Kusoyaro, personally, some of your vid's suck, but that's just me. Your other vids, the ones that don't suck, which happens to be the majority, though are in my "never delete" collection.

LOL.

Listen you sack of shit...
he was not assuming anything... geez I am tired of this... he was actually complimenting the person he was talking to... not insulting tommy... so unless you can pull your head out of your ass and get a fucking clue then you should simply do you part to help the world and fukcing sterlize your self... though considering who you are... this is not needed

and as far as people making AMVs with out computers.... where do you get off requiring a computer. I have a server full of awesome AMVS, and a large portion of them were made on 2 VCRs... hell... my favorite video was made with out a computer, and your saying that it should not count? Anything made with thought heart and determination is beautiful, so open your fucking eyes... there is life outside the computer... the world exists outside the internet...

and I personally consider EVERY amv a peice of art... so just shut the fuck up before you actually make me angry
