I saw "Blue Mercury", "Dreams of Red" and "Venus in a Bottle" (the three Sailor Moon vids by Aluminum Studios" and I just had to figure out how to make them myself because I had so many ideas.

No my problem is actually getting myself to finish anything I start.

The video that got me into AMVs was the "Crossroads" AMV by Aluminum Studios. If I can recall correctly I saw it back in 2002. Since then I wanted to make my own video, but I didn't know how to edit videos let alone make a video. I went to college in 2003 and eventually they taught us how to use Adobe Premiere. Once I got threw with college I finally had the free time I needed and my first AMV premiere in February of this year. That's how I got into AMVs.

If people actually take the time to look for old threads, I wonder why they don't read the stickys. :?

Party Up (Up In Here)

..This AMV started it all for me, mostly due to the fact that it was the first AMV I ever saw, and I didn't even know about this website at that time.. which was about 5 yrs ago or so.. I had d/led it off I-Mesh or something like that..

A long time ago, when I was into Sailor Moon, me and my sister would go download all of the SM attack/transformation clips we could find. When we were searching, we found a video that put lots of SM clips together to the song "Carry On". We both thought it was really cool and watched it a lot, but there weren't any credits or anything so we didn't realize who made it (I still have no clue who did) or how it was made. When KaZaA came out, we were still downloading SM clips and downloaded Blue Mercury by Aluminum Studios. We found it completely awesome, and went to his website and found out about AMVs. From there, we looked for more AMVs on KaZaA and found an FF8 video to Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want". We realized that it's possible to make AMVs using FF8 cutscenes, and researched that (using the org's guides, I believe). We started editing using Pinnacle Studios 7 and downloaded FF scenes. Good times.

Well, Mine's a long story as well, I used to download lots of DBZ Fansubbed eps. from KaZaA, and a friend once donwloaded SupaaVegita's Kryptonite video, and showed it to me, I was just like: "Wow, That's Awesome", that was like in 2000-2001, Then I got lots of AMV's from KaZaA, and well, one day in December of 2003 I got temperature and just stayed at home, then I just looked for some AMV's sites, and read a Video's Comment, the comments said the video had been done with 'Windows Movie Maker', so I was like: "Hey, I've seen the name before", and then I started editing.. Then I got Premiere and blah, blah, blah.. I still miss those old days when I made a 'Passion Of The Christ' Trailer with DBZ Footage

Hahah,
Um, a friend of mine made Final Fantasy videos.

FFVIII to Vanessa Carlton's "Pretty Baby"
and
FFX to Disturbed's "Believe"

I was really impressed with both of them, though I have to say, (and I can say freely, she's not a member, :D ) that my skills have surpassed hers.

Fucking scary. That's almost identical to my story... except it was a few years before you, and I didn't have a sibling involved in AMVing.
